Hi I'm Shayne

I love cars, sports, and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I own an auto body shop with 22 employees. I enjoy participating in basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, running, swimming, and biking. I completed my first triathlon last year in Moses Lake, WA with two other friends. I have been happily married to my beautiful wife and best friend for over 9 yrs. We do absolutely everything together, from work to cleaning to playing. For some reason we never seem to get tired of each other. I have wonderful parents, one sister, three step brothers, and two step sisters. We all live pretty close and enjoy spending time with each other.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was baptized a Mormon when she was 12 yrs. old. My father is not a Mormon. Growing up I had the opportunity to go to both the LDS church and the Lutheran church. I remember thinking that the Lutheran church was more fun as a kid on Sundays because I could play on the playground and they always had great cookies for a treat, but I don't remember any growth spiritually. When I would attend primary classes at the LDS church I remember learning of Jesus Christ, missionary service, and what it meant to be a Mormon. We would sing songs and give talks to other children at a very young age. This helped me make my decision to be baptized into the church at the age of 8. It was truly my decision. My mother did not force me, I chose. My Father has always been loving and supportive of both me and my sister as we grew stronger in the gospel. I truly believe that he recognizes that the Church has played a large role in his children's lives in becoming great people. I am a Mormon because I know that blessings of happiness come as a result of living the teachings found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I understand and know that my greatest mistakes can be forgiven through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I have faith in Him and His ability to make me clean as I repent. I can be sealed for all eternity with my wife and family because I have been married in a Temple of God by the power and authority of the Priesthood. I am also a Mormon because I love to serve people and the Church provides opportunities to help those who stand in need. My problems seem to go away when I focus on the needs of those whom I have a chance to serve. I am very blessed and very grateful to have an amazing wife, family, friends, and job.

How I live my faith

I participate in my church by organizing and/or teaching a group of men from 18 yrs. old and up. I work closely with a few of these men to go out and visit church members in their homes, to share a message and let them know that we stand ready to serve in what ever need they have. We share messages that teach how to be better husbands, fathers, and members of our community. I also have opportunities to give blessings to those who are sick or otherwise afflicted. I attend meetings every Sunday and visit the Seattle Temple on a monthly basis. My wife and I have weekly date nights where we can take time out for each other and keep our love for one another fresh and young. We pray, read scriptures, and have special lessons to deepen our faith and understanding of the Gospel. We choose not to go shopping on Sundays, and instead use Sunday as a day to visit with friends, family and each other. Sundays are such a peaceful day, a day to rest from work and other distractions of the world, a day to renew my commitment to follow Jesus Christ.
