Hi I'm Sheryl Lynn

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 5 daughters, grandmother of 6 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. My daughters are my best friends, my grandkids are the people who make me smile. I am a NASCAR fan. Go Jr! I love being on the beach more than almost anything I can think of, so why I live in the desert is a mystery to me. I will watch any sport that someone will play, although I still don't get what the big deal is with soccer. And maybe tennis. OK, and golf. But I enjoy most sports that involve a ball and/or a stick of some sort. I have discovered the benefits of running and recently completed my first 10K run. I am searching now for my next race. I love my country, so I guess you could say I am all about mom, apple pie, and baseball.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon by birth, but also by choice. A few years ago, I tried a trail that led me off the beaten path. Thankfully, after a few years of wandering aimlessly, the trail has again merged with that path and I am rejoicing in renewed energy of reclaiming the easier road. The reunion has not been without struggle. There are habits that have needed to be corrected. And there is the sorrow and disappointment with myself at having lowered my standard for a time. But I am confident in the love and the atonement of my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that through the process of repentance I can be forgiven and have those things remembered no more by a loving Father in Heaven. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, and that real and complete happiness are found only in living the principles and standards of His church.

How I live my faith

While I am not one to speak up in meetings or classes, I have found my voice in making sure that those who do, those who touch my spirit, know that they have had an influence on me. I make sure to tell each person who touches my heart that they did, and what it was that impacted me. I carry a prayer in my heart always, and take multiple opportunities throughout the day to kneel and speak with my Father in Heaven about the things I am thankful for, the things that are on my heart, and the concerns I have for family, friends and myself. I try to make scripture study a part of each day, and try to share with friends and family the things I have learned.
