Hi I'm Matthew

I grew up in Colorado. I'm a college student. I love sunshine, sports, and reading and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado and love sunshine, sports, and the outdoors. I enjoy playing basketball, football, tennis, ultimate frisbee, and other sports with my friends and siblings, especially my younger brother. I enjoy reading books, especially historical fiction novels. I'm a student at Brigham Young University but am putting my education on hold to serve a two-year mission in California.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents, siblings, and church leaders and teachers taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout my childhood and I am very grateful for their testimonies and example to me. As I have grown older, I have continued to actively live my faith because I have slowly gained a witness of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit and it has brought me great happiness and strength. I have read, pondered, and prayed earnestly about the Book of Mormon several times and each time the Holy Spirit has brought peace and joy to my soul, testifying to me that it is the inspired word of God. I have been blessed with numerous experiences where I have felt the Holy Spirit testify to me that the gospel of Jesus Christ or one of the doctrines or principles it contains are true and inspired. I have found so much happiness as I have lived gospel truths and come unto Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to let my faith guide every aspect of my life. I study the Bible and Book of Mormon as well as the words of modern-day prophets daily. I try to strengthen my family and contribute to a loving and peaceful atmosphere in my home or apartment. I serve in my congregation in various ways including speaking, teaching, planning activities, collecting donations for the poor, doing yard-work, and visiting members. I am profoundly grateful for all of the blessings in my life, especially those that come from the gospel of Jesus Christ. To show my gratitude, I try to help others experience the blessings I enjoy. I work hard in school to learn all that I can so that I can more effectively serve others. I am serving a mission with hope that I can make a positive difference in someone's life and that I can help bring someone the happiness and hope the gospel of Jesus Christ brings to my life.
