Hi I'm Russell

I was raised in Utah, love Quebec. I love cooking, symphonic progressive rock, and have a MBA in Finance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of 3 boys. I love my family and am best friends with my beautiful wife after 20+ years of marriage. We live in Arizona where I work as a Finance Controller. In my free time I like to learn to cook food from around the world and I am a fan of symphonic progressive rock. I served a mission for the LDS church in French speaking Canada and now have a son serving a mission in South America. My other two boys love football and do great in school.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where my mother was an example of living the gospel of Jesus Christ and serving others and my father was just the opposite. I was encouraged to follow both ways and I had to choose for myself to follow Christ or the way of the world. From my youth when I prayed and searched for answers in the scriptures I received answers to my prayers. I came to know that God was there, that He loved me, that He heard and answered my prayers. I was prompted by the Holy Ghost to avoid harmful situations and I came to learn that Christ had saved me not only physically but spiritually through His atonement. Through the service I have provided to others I continue to learn through the Holy Ghost that God loves me and my family and receive guidance on decisions I need to make in my life. I am a Mormon because I have found more light, love and a way to live closest to my Savior through the blessings it brings into my life.

How I live my faith

My faith is part of who I am. I pray and read the scriptures daily and do the same with my family each day. I love the opportunities I have to serve and help neighbors and others I have come to know and love in the church. I have found as I obey the Lord’s commandments and serve others around me that the Savior blesses me so I receive more than I give. As I draw close to Christ in daily prayer and scripture study I have confidence (faith) that my prayers are heard and answered. I have come to know that I am not alone but there is a God that knows and loves me and I have felt a love beyond my own capacity to love poured into my heart and I have received comfort and peace spoken to my heart when I have faced challenges and hardships. To have the gift of the Holy Ghost to answer your prayers and comfort me in times of trial and to have the opportunity to serve others and receive blessings from God are the most priceless gifts I could ask for this challenging world.
