Hi I'm Marty

I'm from Wyoming lived in Colorado now in Utah. I'm an Athlete, I'm a Thespian, I'm a US Navy Corpsman, And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a senior and I attend seminary every day at six in the morning. I am also an athlete I play football, lacrosse and basketball. I know that my heavenly father has blessed me with athletic talents and I know that he has blessed me with my decision making skills and has given me a family that has taught me the importance of the church, especially in this dispensation. I know the importance of serving a full time mission. I'm going to be eighteen in February and I am working hard to prepare for my mission. I know that Heavenly Father has given me gifts that would allow me to go to college earlier and stay there but I would give up sports in a heartbeat to serve the Lord in one of the most glorious ways possible. I know that my Savior lives, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and Jesus and our Heavenly Father appeared to him. I know that Thomas Spencer Monson is our prophet today and he receives and talks to our Heavenly Father. I know that the book of Mormon is a true book and is another testement of Jesus Christ. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on this earth today. And I know that I can get back to my Heavenly Father again through his plan. Mostly I'm happy that I was born in a family that was brought up in the church. I'm happy that I'm a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was born Mormon but my father was born Catholic so after some talk my Mother and Father decided that my brothers and I would be brought up Mormon. Its been a struggle but I thank my Heavenly Father for blessing me with being born into the church. I know that our savior Jesus Christ died for us and that through the atonement which he completed we can live with our Heavenly Father again. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon and I know that Thomas Spencer Monson is a prophet, seer and revelator today. I know the Book of Mormon is true and is another testament of our lords wonderful works. I know these things are true, I'm a Mormon because I know these things are truer than any other words on the earth today and I'm so thankful that I have been given this opportunity to give my part online and to soon preach in the mission field

How I live my faith

I serve faithfully in my community by serving the other members when they need it. I also am an Eagle scout in the boy scouts program. I have a calling as a home teacher and I look forward to meeting with the families I teach every month. I also willingly go to Seminary everyday at six in the morning and I love it! I'm also living my faith by completing my duty to God award and I am also actively preparing to serve my mission. To know that I can help the salvation of my Brothers and Sisters in the Eternal perspective is a greater gift than anything I can give or receive. I am waiting excitedly for my mission calling and am excited that I will soon be out in the mission field teaching and preaching like thousands before me...like my savior, Jesus Christ.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

In the book of Acts it is established that the Quorum of the Twelve was to continue like when in Chapter one Peter chose Matthias as the new apostle to replace Judas (Before this there were only eleven apostles, Matthias makes twelve.) Paul was also chosen to be an apostle he prophesied of the church being built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets (as seen in Ephesians 2:19-20.) So we are not as crazy as it seems the Quorum of the Twelve is/was supposed to be kept going and that is why Peter chose another person to make twelve apostles. Show more Show less
