Hi I'm Tamara.

I grew up in New England and now I live in the Southwest. I'm a mother. I'm a writer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full time mother to three beautiful children and I'm thrilled to be who I am. Not that I'm perfect or that my life always goes the way I'd like, but I'm happy because I love the fulfilling work of creating a loving family. I love literature, reading and writing. I'm part of a book club and a writing group. I've won two poetry contests and love the exchange of ideas. I have a love of learning and a love of life. I marvel at the beauties of the earth and also cherish the goodness in people.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to follow Jesus Christ. I remain a member of the church because I know it contains the fullness of His Gospel. I thrill to hear His prophet and apostles speak on the earth today. I am thankful I can receive all the ordinances I need to return to live with my Father in Heaven and be with my family eternally.

How I live my faith

I try to be kind to my family and everyone I meet to demonstrate my faith in Jesus Christ. I attend a service each week on Sunday to participate in the ordinance of the Sacrament. This helps me to remember Him and His sacrifice for me. I like to spend time learning about Him and his life. I teach members of my congregation from the scriptures the doctrines He taught. I also visit women in my neighborhood and community to share what I'm learning. I bring meals and watch children for friends that are in need. Doing these things is a great source of peace and joy in my life.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Tamara.
Faithful. Intelligent. Caring. Industrious. Women who belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints love the Lord and their families. They are devoted and compassionate, fun and full of personality. Yes! We believe in the equality of men and women. We believe both have the same opportunity for exaltation and cannot receive it without the other. Show more Show less
