Hi I'm Vicki

I have 6 children and work part-time as a CPA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I treasure my wonderful friends. At home, i enjoy spending time with my family and baking, planting flowers and working in the garden. One of my favorite pastimes is visiting on the phone with my grown children who live away. I also enjoy being outside and hiking, jogging, bicycling and skiing or sledding in the winter.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS Church. However, throughout my life, I have truly felt that this church is lead by our Savior and if I live by His teachings and follow the words of the prophets, not only would I be blessed, but my children would live better lives, too. The church provides me with opportunities of personal growth by serving in various volunteer positions. It also gives me opportunities to be of service to others and to teach my children to also give service. Most of all, though, activity in the church helps me feel close to Heavenly Father which motivates me to make choices that will lead me back to Him.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving in the women's organization. I help orchestrate the weekday meetings that we have every other month that give us a chance to apply some of the lessons we learn in our Sunday lessons. For example, last time we had a presentation on the symbolism of the temple and what it means to us and we gave out pictures of the temple for the women to put in their homes if they wished. Next time we are doing a service project making quilts for a local charity. We will also have some cooking classes and inexpensive gift projects that the women can choose to participate in. Besides the things we accomplish in these meetings, they are a great time just for building sisterhood and being strengthened by each other. Besides attending church each Sunday as a family, we have family night on Monday evenings which include a brief spiritual lesson, family council, weekly planning, a fun activity and if we're lucky, treats. Also, we sit down to read scriptures and have a family prayer before bedtime.
