Hi I'm Heather

I'm a mother of 3, a singer, I enjoy going out to eat, throwing parties and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a degree in vocal performance and enjoy performing any chance I get. I stay home with my three young children, and my life revolves around shuttling them to school, preschool, and various activities (soccer, a co-op music class, etc.) I love being a mother - it's the greatest job in the world. It brings me so much joy. I'm in a book group, enjoy making cards and online photo books, and like making fancy desserts and decorating cakes. I also like to camp, hike and water ski in the summer. In the winter I like to curl up with a good book and cup of hot chocolate, and occasionally venture out to play in the snow (when we have any) with the kids. And I love planning and throwing parties and playing games with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel brings happiness, depth and meaning to all aspects of my life. It helps me understand the purpose of having children and a family and the importance of my role as a mother. I understand that what I do as a mother serves a greater and grander purpose than other things I could be doing. I know that our Heavenly Father's plan makes it possible for my family to be together forever and that this is possible because of Jesus Christ. I'm also thankful for the Holy Ghost in my life. By listening to its promptings it helps me raise my children and know what to teach them. It makes me aware of how I can help and serve those around me, and confirms to me the truth of what I try to live each day as I try to follow Christ's teachings.

How I live my faith

For the last three years I've been the secretary of the women's group in our congregation. Our purpose is to strengthen and serve each other and those around us in the community. I'm in charge of publicizing events, organizing volunteers, and producing a weekly newsletter for all of the women in the group. I love that I've gotten to know all of the women at church, and the friendships I've made through my service. I'm impressed with the time and effort they all put into serving the community and those around them. It confirms to me the power that we can have when we all work together toward a good and worthy cause.
