Hi I'm Sue

I'm a wife, a mother and grandmother. I'm a Mormon missionary helping people with the LDS genealogy sites.

About Me

I was born just as World War II was ending. My father was still serving in the Philippines. During my childhood we moved many times and my father had many jobs. My parents divorced when I was 12 years old. It was during that time that I lived on a street with two Mormon families. I also have relatives in Utah that I am close to that belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). These people all influenced my life. As a married adult with two children, I started going back to church. Now we have been married 45 years, have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. As I already stated, I am a FamilySearch missionary serving 20 hours a week from home attending meetings, learning and helping other people with their genealogy problems online from my computer and using the telephone. I enjoy being with my husband, crocheting, knitting, reading, travelling, playing with my grandchildren and my little dog.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because during all these years, I have found the one way to truly be happy is trying to live following the Savior Jesus Christ. I cannot even imagine my life without the Gospel. I struggle every day to do the things I should to be like the Savior. I enjoy the Women's Relief Society organization and am the secretary. I am so glad to know so many wonderful people with the same beliefs and value system that I can call friend.

How I live my faith

Three and a half years ago I retired after 21 years working for a large aeronautical corporation. When I started working it was necessary financially. Our church encourages everyone to get as much education as possible and the company I worked for paid for my bachelor's degree. As the years went by, I began to see that even though I enjoyed my job, it was not meaningful in the grand scheme of things. I began to long for the day when I could live my life trying to be a better follower of Jesus Christ and spend my time studying and serving. I attend a LDS religion class once a week to learn more about the Gospel I love. I work one day a week serving in our temple. And, as I mentioned before, I am a FamilySearch missionary.
