Hi I'm Marianne

I am a wife and a mother of four. My family means everything to me. I love life and helping other people. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town, with four brothers and two sisters. I love my family and enjoy being with them when I can. I have been married for twenty-seven years to a great guy who loves adventure, so we have lived in three countries outside the US and six states within the US. We have four wonderful children and a beautiful daughter-in-law, who I love like my own. I look forward to being a grandmother and watching my children become parents. At present all my children except one are attending college. One son is serving as a missionary in Brazil. I am a big sports fan. I love watching my children play sports or just watching on TV with my kids. I love sunshine, exercising, reading, singing and being with my family. I love being a woman, I love being a wife, and I love being a mother.

Why I am a Mormon

My family have been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many generations. I am grateful for the heritage my family has given me. Although I grew up as a Mormon, many personal experiences have shaped my testimony. When I read the Book of Mormon I feel like it applies to my life -- no matter what I am experiencing at the time. When I pray about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, I feel a burning deep within my heart that tells me it is true. When I listen to our living prophet speak, I also feel a burning of truthfulness speak to my heart and mind. I feel calm and peaceful when I follow the commandments of our Heavenly Father. I am able to put the problems of the world around me into perspective when I spend time in our holy temples. I have felt the Lord's love for me and for my children many times. When I pray for guidance and direction, I feel the Lord's influence. It is not always immediately, but I always feel like I have been lead to do the things that are best for me and my family. When my mother passed away from cancer, I felt peace and comfort, and a sureness that I will see her again. There is not a day that goes by that I haven't felt the spirit of the Holy Ghost guide me. I pray that I will live my life to show my gratitude to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I love Jesus Christ. He is my Savior. I know that through Him my life can be made whole. I know that it is through Him that my family can be together forever. Our Heavenly Father's plan is truly the happiness I seek.

How I live my faith

My life is really all about my faith. It is my faith that gives me purpose. I know that we are all children of our Heavenly Father and therefore we must serve one another. In a world where we are mostly concerned about ourselves, the Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to serve one another. I do this by first serving my family. My mother showed me this by serving me and showing me that true happiness is losing yourself by serving your family and community. It was when I lost myself in mothering the precious spirits that were born to my husband and me that I really felt happy. I also feel great happiness when I serve those around me. Most of my adult life I have had the special opportunity to work in the youth programs of the church (ages 12-18). I love working with the youth. They are so smart and I feel so much hope for the future when I am in their presence. I know that it is hard being a teenager at this time in the world's history, with so many temptations and hardships, but I believe that the youth who I work with are strong and smart and want to make our world a better place. If you worry about our world's future, I invite you to spend some time with Mormon youth. You will feel hope. I also live my faith by studying the scriptures, praying, attending church meetings, and serving in the temples. By doing these things, I learn how I can become a better person by coming unto Christ.
