Hi I'm Tamara

I love to laugh and joke , I was a Corpman in the Navy, I am a single mother, student, business owner and I am a Mormon

About Me

I take pride in all I do. I am a single mother of two wonderful children. I am a full time college student, I am only 6 classes away from my degree in substance abuse counseling. I decided I did not want to be the average single mom who works endless hours and never was home for her children so I started my own business. While times are tough and things are tight I know I am doing the right things for my family. I enjoy writing the most, I have written three books and lots of songs and poems. I have had some poems published when I was in high school. I can put things into writing that I can not seem to say and nothing brings things to life like a good book. My children and I love to give service. We have always identified a neighbor or friend that needs help that would not ask for it and we have a wonderful time baking treats or food and dropping it off un noticed. True service are those random acts of kindness that you keep to yourself. I hope I have taught my children that important lesson.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I can not deny the blessings in my life because I joined the church. I have learned about true friendship, the importance of family, and that you truly are not alone in your struggles. My testimony has grown watching my children develop in the church. My children know the importance of prayer, service, and following the gospel. One's heart can not help but be opened to the spirit when their child is proud of the things they have accomplished while serving others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church, visiting other sisters in the ward, and making sure my children get to their activities. I have enjoyed meeting the other members of the ward that are also converts and sharing our stories of conversion with one another.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Tamara
The law of chasity is not having sexual relations outside of marriage period. This is a very simple concept yet in today's world seems to be a difficult one to follow. Keeping the law of chastity as a single woman has brought a new self esteem to my life. I personally avoid inappropriate movies, books, or anything that may tempt me to act on desires outside of marriage. As adults we have the duty of setting an example for our children and showing in action to my children that the law of chastity is important even to single adults has opened several opportunities to have open and honest discussions on the importance of family and sexual relations is reserved for a man and woman that are legally married.
