Hi I'm Sidney, friends call me Chip

Love my Family, Scouting & Work...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Father of 7, Grandfather of 9 have been blessed with a fantastic wife; I enjoy high adventure scouting, hiking, horseback, back packing, scuba & flying. My daughters have all loved dance and are all very active in teaching dance through dance classes and to their own children. I have been very involved in Scouting, things like Wood Badge, the Venturing Fly In, We have hiked the Grand Canyon, Havasupai Falls, Power Gardens, Reeves Ranch in the Superstition Mountains and many areas In between. All three of my sons have earned the rank of Eagle Scout and I was recently awarded the Silver Beaver. Love my work…I get to promote businesses and events through promotional products, there are so many items to work with and it is fun to come up with that item that will be just right. Love to see the smile on the their faces.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up as a Mormon in Utah, with parents and family who were all members you would think I would just follow the path. Not so easy, I had to go out on my own and try things my way. It didn’t take long, newly married and ready to start our family, while at work I had a good co-worker who would share some of his special moments in his life like taking his wife to the temple, he treated his wife so good, I knew I wanted better for my family and my family yet to be, it was going to take some changes. I think about most of my examples and influences from the church and they were what I wanted to have in my life, but did I believe? Sometimes it doesn’t come all at once but it is by little bits and they all get stored up, I remember pulling out the Book of Mormon one day, deciding I would not leave my bedside until I knew for certain that the writings were true. It was just me the Book of Mormon and my knees on the ground ready to wrestle with God for the truth. I asked myself as I read, could a young boy actually write this…Could I write anything like this? As I knelt on the ground I read and prayed and read and prayed and was so overcome by the warmth of all the blessings I had received in my life. I knew at that point I could not ask any further because I had received so many little bits I knew it was true and it was time to get off the ground and start to be a useful interment in his hands. Since that time the bits just keep piling up.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every minute of the day, it is who I am and what I am, weather I am with my children celebrating a birthday, giving service or having a family time. Or if it’s with the Boy Scouts flying in Airplanes or at the bottom of Havasupai Falls. I know who I am and have a peace knowing why we are here on this wonderful planet called Earth. I start my day and finish my day talking with my father in heaven and try to do as he would have me do and try to do it each day a little better than yesterday. My children sometimes see life a little different; this was posted by one of my Daughters: I come from a long line of family members that are HARD workers! "Go the extra mile" was our family motto and engraved in our brains! lol If ever a free moment, my parents had us loaded up ready to serve others. Free Babysitting, meals for others, yard work, house repairs, you name it we did it for anyone in need! I don't mean here or there... we served almost daily! I have been raised with the "LOVE" for hard work, service and ability to unconditionally love others. I am so proud of my parents and the great examples they have always been to me & everyone around them! Anyone who knows them admires their marriage, service & love for others. My parents always have a smile on their faces & EVERYONE feels like their best friend because of the genuine love they feel for EVERYONE! I feel so blessed to have been born of goodly parents who love and serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
