Hi I'm Carolyn

I was an only child growing up in Montana and Alaska. I'm grateful my parents taught me how to love. Live is good! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm delighted to share with you that I'm a wife, mother of 7, grandmother of 21 and great grandmother to three. Striving to improve the quality of life for those I love and also for myself is important to me. Developing skills and abilities to help others brings me satisfaction and happiness. My interests and hobbies included genealogy, music-choir-leading music, exercise-walking-stationery bike-swimming, preparing healthy foods to eat, all homemaking skills, reading, being computer sauvy, travel and continuing to learn new things and developing new skills. Sweet satisfaction comes from living each day to the fullest...remembering that individuals are unique and precious and that relationships need to be nurtured with empathy, kindness, forgiveness and love. Reaching out to serve others, I've learned that personal growth is inevitable finding unexpected blessings of both greater capacity and increased opportunities to serve.

Why I am a Mormon

A friend in high school invited me to attend the youth program at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with her and I accepted her invitation. I really enjoy the evening and continued to attend every week. I wanted to learn more about the church so I asked a recent sister who was a returned missionary if she would give me the missionary discussions. She was delighted. She invited me to her home for the discussions... after the discussions I wanted to be baptized. I had sweet feelings that the church was true. So at the age of 16, I was baptized and it was an amazing experience. I made the right choice. The gospel has been a joy to me. I'm very grateful that I have tender feelings that our Heavenly Father lives and loves me. I know that Jesus is the Christ and I have such sweet feelings when I contemplate what he has done for each of us. The Holy Ghost is a guide, comfort and teacher for us. I have special feelings for each prophet that has touched my life. I just completed reading the Book of Mormon again and each time I learn and feel a greater testimony of its truthfulness. I'm in awe what Jospeh Smith was able to accomplish so much for all of mankind. The gospel is my life and I'm so grateful for the teachings the gospel gives us. I'm also eternally grateful for the ultimate gift of eternal life if we but follow and apply its teachings

How I live my faith

Currently, I'm a Sunday school teacher teaching a class of 12 and 13 year olds. It is a joy to me and I've been teaching them for over three years. My husband and I also have five families that we visit once a month to be of help to them. I've spent many years teaching vocal music in church in the children's classes. I've lead music in the congregation for over 40 years and been a choir director for several years. I always enjoy singing in the choir. Searching out my family history is a prior which I enjoy. Recently, I had the most amazing experience. My mother loved to take pictures and she had many of them... but she passed away two years feeling sad because in moving several times she had lost some photo albums. She expressed many times that she missed the photo albums of our time in Alaska. In June of this year I received email through a genealogy web site from a woman asking about me and the family. It seems she was given 14 photo albums that these two woman found over 20 to 30 years earlier and had kept them hoping to give them to the rightful owner. Was I excited! We made contact and I drove 500 miles to her home and was able to get the 14 lost photo albums that my mother was so sad about losing. It had my baby pictures, lots of ancestors, and pictures of our time in Nome Alaska. It was hard to believe that these sisters would keep the photos save for so many years. They found a sister in their area who was involved in genealogy and asked for her help and she found me. We feel truly blessed and grateful! We express love and tenderness to all who had part in any way. May we remember always from whom we receive these choice blessings and serve Him with all our heart, might, mind and strength--this is another testament of the truthfulness of the gospel
