Hi I'm Bob

I'm a Mormon. Being a Mormon means our family may be a family forever, if we follow Jesus Christ's teachings.

About Me

I am the father of 6 children and love them dearly. My wife and I are retired and have served two service missions. We have been married 56 wonderful years. We are heavily involved in doing our Family History and helping others to do theirs. Our Ancestry is European. I spend my research time working on the Swedish side of the family. We live in one of the most beautiful areas of the world. The Pacific NW has mountains, rivers, Beaches, magnificent forests and wildlife. I love the Lord so much and am thankful for all the blessings he has given me and my family. The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ shows us the way to come to Him. The way may be rocky at times, but it is worth it. I believe that by following the teachings of the church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, we are healthier both physically and mentally. My wife plays the violin in the community orchestra. We love gardening and have a greenhouse where we grow tomatoes, we also grow a variety of vegetables and berries in our garden and provide us with an abundance of good things to eat.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a member of the church and I was able to attend church meetings in private homes, strange halls and finally in our own buildings. My dad joined the church when I was a teenager. I was quite shy and didn't date many girls and none seriously. It wasn't until I met this good looking redhead in church that I decided maybe girls would be OK to pal around with. After we dated for some months, I decided it was time to see if the church was true or if I was wasting my time attending. I began to read the Book of Mormon. I struggled through the first reading, not understanding a whole lot, but one thing I did gain was that the Book contained the word of God. From these beginnings I began to build a testimony. I am not perfect and surely never will be - in this life. Thanks to my Saviour, I can learn to reconcile my life with His teachings. When I mess up all I have to do is to turn to Him and He will take me by the hand and make me whole again. I cannot explain how much I owe Him. The ordeal He went through to accomplish the atonement and then to overcome death brings me to tears. I could not save myself from my sins nor can anyone else, only He can save us through his grace. By attempting to live a Christlike life, I can take part in the Gospel of Happiness. By keeping his commandments, we can be happy, no matter the circumstances that a mortal life brings. I married that red headed girl and we have 6 wonderful children, many grand children and more and more great grandchildren. We have all been sealed together in a Temple of the Lord, by this we are sealed as a family forever. Contrary to the beliefs of some, we do not worship Joseph Smith but we believe he is a prophet and was chosen to bring forth the true gospel as taught by Jesus. I believe our current church president is also a prophet.

How I live my faith

I try to do my part to show my love for Jesus by attempting to help those who need help. I try to live my life that others may attempt to copy. I give all credit for anything I have done correctly to my Savior. I have spent 7+ years as a scout master, I have also served my community as a member of the school board for 7+ years. I attempt to keep my home and property in good shape, I consider myself a environmentalist and clean up my property. When I was scoutmaster we always cleaned up the area before we left, packing out others trash. I have served in my ward in all the assignments except primary and the women's organization. I hold my priesthood sacred and try to be prepared to use it whenever the occasion arises.
