Hi I'm Dawn Schween

I'm a Mormon first, a "Nona", (Glama) to almost 10 grandkids, a wife and enjoy a career as a speaker. I love the gospel.

About Me

I am an Italian Mormon ... (half Italian and half Scottish) I grew up outside of Philadelphia where there was great food but few Mormons. My mother joined the church after "dodging" the Mormon missionaries for 7 years because she didn't want to give up her cigarettes and coffee. She eventually came to the conclusion that she needed the "gospel" more than she needed the nicotene. She is now 80 years young and has lived a blessed live as a member of the LDS church. I went west when I attended BYU and graduated with a degree in Archaeology and now live in Arizona near our 10 grandchildren. I still miss the great Italian food but now teach my grandchildren how to make it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a "pioneer" Mormon in my family. My mother and I joined the church when I was 8 years old. I still remember my mother giving me the choice to get baptized with her or to wait. Although really young I remember "knowing" it was the right thing to do. I am now in my 50's and have NEVER doubted that decision. I know that Heavenly Father loves ALL of HIS children and that the Book of Mormon is an ancient record of HIS children here in North America and that it completely supports the BIBLE. I am a MORMON because I feel it is a religion of complete truth and has the answers that so many people today are searching for.

How I live my faith

I am active in our Mormon women's organization as the president. Women have a strong roles as well as roles of leadership. I work closely with the women and the men of the priesthood. Our focus as women is to provide and serve the women in our local church as well as in the community with humanitarian and welfare services. We believe strongly that we serve our Heavenly Father by serving others!
