Hi I'm Brian

I enjoy life, especially so as a husband, father, grandfather and as a Mormon - all of these by choice.

About Me

I really enjoy life. I like to laugh and love to see others happy. As a husband, I sometimes think one of my prime purposes is to cause my wife to smile or laugh. She is very tolerant of me! Grandchildren are so wonderful I once told my son that had I known being a grandparent was so great, I would have skipped the part about being a father. While that is not true (I love being a Dad too) it caused a smile. Corney jokes are my specialty. At least they make most people smile. I have been very fortunate in life. I have been married to my wonderful wife for over 40 years. What a blessing! In speaking of blessings, we have six children that on most days we would not have traded for anything. As an immigrant I had the opportunity to become a citizen of this great country and cherish my choice of citizenship. I now work and have worked with some wonderful people and count myself lucky to do so.

Why I am a Mormon

As a teen I fancied myself an agnostic but had a personal experience in my late teens which convinced me there was a God who cared. That started me on a journey of discovery for which I am grateful. I discovered our Lord, Jesus Christ, and His Church which bears His name and contains His priesthood. With the power which comes from Him and His priesthood, I also discovered that by following Him willingly, I could be an instrument of His, help make a difference in the lives of individuals, and help them want to return to Him. In this I have been blessed to work with individuals and families, to teach them about His Gospel and His church, and to witness the miracles that come into our lives because of His love. Imperfect as I am, I feel his love and rejoice in it. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been very important to me because it is led by a living prophet and other inspired leaders. I know the hand of the Lord directs His church and have had experiences which prove it to my soul. I love both our Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Currently I have been asked to serve in a leadership position in our congregation (ward). At other times I have taught small children, adults, and teens. There are families I have been asked to help and work to make their burdens lighter or to cheer them as they continue on the path our Heavenly Father has asked them to tread. My willingness to serve in the Church is purely an offering of time to help build the Kingdom of God. It is a labor of love freely given. I try hard to live the principles I have been taught by my religion at work and elsewhere. It is up to others to judge whether I meet the standards of honesty and integrity of my faith. I have tried and will continue to try to do so.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Brian
The role of a husband and wife in a family is a very important one. They are committed to doing all they can to teach their children to love and honor our Heavenly Father and His beloved Son, Jesus Christ and to follow Their teachings. Therefore, a husband and wife are partners who love of each other and their children and teach the Gospel by example and from the scriptures. They nurture in their children faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, honesty, virtue, kindness, love for their family, and service to others. Show more Show less
