Hi I'm Zachary

I am a musician, an athlete, and a comedian. I love my family. I'm a missionary in Northern California and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah and shortly thereafter, my family moved to Nevada, then Iowa, and we are now in Nebraska. I started public school at 4th grade and, throughout middle and high school, participated in cross country, engineering, and drama. Over time, I realized that I LOVE music! I got into music theory, show choir, normal choir, and playing the piano! When I didn't do those things, I spent time with my 5 younger siblings and my parents. Last year, I left to serve a 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Northern California.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my whole life. Even though I grew up in the Church, I still had to find out for myself if this was something important in my life. I took the challenge to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. Reading it has helped me to learn more about Jesus Christ and how His sacrifice opened a way for all of us to come back home. My conversion didn't come all at once; in fact, I am still continuing to learn more about Him. But I know from small, special, and significant events that God is my Heavenly Father and yours as well. Jesus Christ is His Perfect Son, who wants nothing more out of us than a simple consistent desire to change and follow him. He invites all to come and follow Him, to walk as He walks, and do the things He would do. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I have read it and I have received an answer from God that it is so. The Book of Mormon supports the Bible's testimony in declaring to the world that all who come to Christ and live His Gospel may be saved. Because I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that the Church is being led by Prophets and Apostles, who receive direction from God. I invite you to learn more by requesting missionaries to stop by and share more with you.

How I live my faith

One of the things that I do to show my faith in Jesus Christ is serving others. I have found that when I serve others, it is really serving God. As a missionary, I do a lot with helping out in the community, such as working at the food bank, as well as helping people along the way. I also help the local congregation of the Church where I serve by helping the bishop in reaching out to members who are struggling with their faith or other matters. Another thing that I do to show my faith is to share my testimony of the Savior with others. I love meeting with people and inviting them to learn more about how they can develop a closer relationship with Christ. The more I do that, the more it helps me to come closer to Him.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

We live just like normal people. Although we do things that may seem strange to people today, we are not aliens from another universe. The lifestyle of a Mormon, or a Latter-Day Saint, revolves around prayer, scripture studies, and church. We pray everyday because the Lord has commanded it so. We need to communicate with God to thank him for every blessing and also to ask him for help with everyday problems. Scripture study, according to our beliefs, is commanded by the Lord. We read them to learn more about life and also how men and women from ancient times dealt with their challenges. Another thing that we do is we attend church activities. This is our time where we can connect with other members and where we can learn and relearn key points of the Gospel together. Overall, we try to live our lives to find happiness in this life.
