Hi I'm Jon

I'm a Mormon. I have a wonderful wife and seven children. My testimony and my family are the most important things in my life.

About Me

I am a child of God, a husband, a father and grandfather. I have been involved in a family business for over forty years. My wife and I have seven wonderful children and twenty two grand children and we live close enough to each other to spend lots of time together. I also ride a bike for exercise. Six days a week you might see me out on my bike early in the morning. My wife and I are native Arizona residents but we have also lived in Russia for over three and a half years, serving two different missions together in that country. Those missions brought us closer together and closer to our Father in Heaven. They also helped us to gain a much greater appreciation for our faith, our family and our country.

Why I am a Mormon

I am one of the fourth generation of Mormon pioneer families. My father's family are from Spain and my mother's family are from Italy. My ancestors came from those countries at great sacrifice to join the church, gather with the latter day saints and help to create Zion here in the western United States. I was baptized by my father as a young eight year old boy. I have attended church all my life. I first read the Book of Mormon as a young fourteen year old boy. I have since read that book forty or fifty times and each time I have received a witness from the spirit that it is the word of God and that it contains the doctrine of Christ and will bring us closer to God. With baptism, by one who had priesthood authority and in the prescribed manner, I received the gift of the Holy Ghost. As I have been obedient to God's commandments and listened to the still small voice of the Holy Ghost, it has testified to me that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of our Father in Heaven and our Savior and Redeemer. Joseph Smith was God's prophet who restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ in these latter days. It has testified to me that we have a living prophet today, Thomas S Monson, and that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God. My testimony and the spirit are the compass I need and use to navigate this mortal life.

How I live my faith

My wife and I have been active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints all of our married life, over forty years and counting. We have served two missions together in a foreign land. Each of us has had many church assignments or callings which have given us opportunities to serve God and our fellow men. Our testimonies have been strengthened as we have been teachers and officers in our local wards. Each Sunday we spend three hours with other ward members worshiping together. Sunday services include prayer, partaking of the sacrament, sacred hymns and the word of God. Life in our home, in our business and in all other aspects of our lives is built around and guided by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
