Hi I'm David

I grew up in Gilbert AZ. I love spending time w/ my family and I work in an emergency department.

About Me

I am married w/ 6 kids. I enjoy doing triathlons, spending time w/ my family, cooking , and going to the lake to wake board w/ friends and family. I work as a physician assistant in the emergency department in a local hospital. I enjoy date nights every Friday w/ my wife. I completed an Ironman triathlon last year in St. George, Utah. It was very difficult but very rewarding to see what the human body can acutally endure.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my entire life. I can honestly say that the longer I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the greater happiness I enjoy. I served a 2 year mission for my church at age 19 and learned Spanish. While serving as a missionary, I learned great lessons of service, hard work, trusting the Lord. My life has not been an easy one thus far, but I do know that ther is a God who loves me and knows me personally, and His son Jesus Christ loves me too. This simple truth has helped me in many difficult situations in my life. I am a Mormon because I love what my church has helped me to instil in my heart as good things such as; being a faithful and loving husband and father, serve others w/ out any thought for myself, treat my body as a gift from God, the Family Unit is the most important unit in the world, being prepared, praying and reading scriptures w/ my wife and kids before bed. The list goes on and on of the reasons I am a Mormon and why I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by first and foremost being a loving husband and father. Now, I am not a perfect husband or father, but I try hard everyday to do better. Other ways I live my faith is by serving in different positions (AKA callings) in the church. I have served as a Boy Scout leader, a youth leader for youth ages 12-18, I served a teacher to youth ages 16-18. I also served for a time as a Bishop or a leader of a congregation called a "ward" . One of my favorite callings in the church was working as a nusery teacher for young kids ages 18 months to 3 years old. I live my faith by striving everyday to be the type of person that I think others would like to be around. I try to always be happy and look at the brighter side of life. I try to be a good employee and co-worker. I participate in my kids school functions and love going on field trips w/ my kids school classes. I enjoy taking in my neighbor's trash can for them w/ out them knowing. I love taking homemade salsa and/or cookies to others. By doing these things and others, I feel that I am living my faith. I am not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I work hard at trying to be like my older brother Jesus Christ.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

David
I feel that the role of a husband and a wife in the family is to strive to see that the other is happy. I know that my wife works so hard to keep our family running smoothly. There are days that she has "had it". That is a time for me to take her on a date and let her know how much I appreciate what she does for our family and for me. I know that ther e are days that I come home and she can tell it has been a crasy day at work just by the look on my face. She always gives me a hug and tells me how much she loves and appreciates my hard work. Husbands and wives should work side by side to take care of eachother and their children if they have them. It is not easy at times, and there are times that misunderstandings arise. It is during these times that the relationship can be forever strengthened by being humble and saying "I'm sorry" or being the first to sincerely appologize. Never go to bed w/ unkind feelings toward your spouse, let your children see you hug, hold hands and kiss your wife. Let them know that your spouse is the most important person in the entire world.
