Hi I'm Katie

I love music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm sixteen years old, I'm home-schooled, I am a junior in high school, and I love running and playing the piano. I am the second youngest of seven children.

Why I am a Mormon

I did not know about the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints until I was eight years old. At the time my father, my sister and I were living in a little town by the name of Warden. One day while we were driving home my dad was noticing how many different churches there were all around. He asked my sister and I what we though of church. We had really no idea what to say. We were never raised in a church-going family. When we got home that night my father suggested that we kneel down as a family and say a prayer asking God which church was true. Exactly 72 hours later, two missionaries came knocked on our door asking if we had ever heard of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My dad instantly thought that these young men were the answer to our prayer we had said just only a few days earlier. We took the lessons and my sister and I were baptized a few months later. My dad decided he needed to wait a few more months to sort out his life so that he could be worthy to be baptized. Years passed, a lot of things happened, and long story short I moved in with a wonderful family that brought my focus back to being centered on Christ. To this day, my father and sister are no longer members. It's hard for me to watch them live their life's and struggle without Jesus Christ, or our Heavenly Father. I will remain strong in the church and hopefully someday, I will be able to bring them back.

How I live my faith

I am the class president of the 16 to 18 year old girls. I plan and organize weekly activities with other girls in my group. I play the piano sometimes when needed for my youth group once a week.
