Hi I'm Kathleen

I was baptized in the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) when I was 8 years of age.

About Me

I went to college at Ricks (now BYU-I ) College before coming back home to work. Then I Was married and had one child. Now I work for the school district. I enjoy sewing and watching football. Hanging out with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess deep down inside I have always known the gospel is true. My mom tells me that at a young age I came downstairs from my room and asked her how I receive answers to my prayers. I knew there was someone there to talk too. When I was in ninth grade I went to a early morning scripture class called "Seminary". We were studying the Book of Mormon I remember feeling the spirit so strong I wanted to jump on the lunch room tables (like a soap box) and tell everyone about the church and the gospel of Christ. I remember when I was in the mission training center, training for my mission we were singing the hymn about Joseph Smith's First Prayer where he saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. As I sang those words I was filled with such a sweet peace I knew the Lord was confirming the truth of that event. I know that Joseph Smith did indeed see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it is the Word of God and a Companion to the Bible. I know we have a living prophet here upon the earth today who leads and guides this church and is directed through our Heavenly Father. I know that our families can be eternal. And most importantly I know my Savior lives. I know he died for me and for each one of us. That He took upon himself our sins.

How I live my faith

At this time I am lucky enough to teach the 14 and 15 year olds in Sunday School about the New Testament. They are a great group of kids. Some of the other great things I get to do are.... Once a month the ladies in our congregation get together to learn different topics. I enjoy things like cooking, gardening, home organization, and needle crafts. Our ward (congregation) has a pot luck once a month to help to get to know the new members and visitors. Some of the other things I really enjoy doing is when there is a need (such as someone moving), going to help. It is a great way to get to know people as they really are and see their hearts.
