Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm a wife, and a mother, a sister and a friend and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother, a sister, daughter and friend. My greatest joy comes in being with my family. My husband and I struggled with infertility issues and were married for 10 years before we were blessed to have our three beautiful children. I graduated from college with a degree in Family Science. I love photography and scrapbooking. I love to snuggle down with hot chocolate and read a good book. I love to learn about my ancestors and who I come from. I love to be outside and to enjoy nature. I am always up for a good joke and love to laugh and be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to and raised by strong and devout members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. As I grew up I saw the blessings that came to our family through following the teachings Of Jesus Christ. It is hard to say when I gained my own testimony exactly, it just seems like I always knew it was true and right and good. When I went away to college it was the first real time that I needed to stand on my own, to find out for sure what I believed. I spent many hours studying and reading the scripture, especially the Book of Mormon. As I did I came to really know that the scriptures contained the word of God and that the gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth, restored by Joseph Smith. As time has passed and I have had many experiences that have strengthened my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and of His love for me. One particular experience came as my husband and I had just been through some very disappointing procedures as we tried to begin our family. I was kneeling by by my bed sobbing, calling out to my Heavenly Father for comfort in prayer. At that time, I felt his love for me so strongly that I could not doubt that He heard me and that he wept with me. My prayers to have children were not immediately answered as I wanted, but I realized who I am, a daughter of God and that he loves and knows me. Eventually we were blessed with 3 beautiful children. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ. He is my savior. I have a testimony that we have a Heavenly Father who is God and that we are his children and he knows us. I have a burning testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that it has been restored through Joseph Smith. I have learned for myself that this is true. I find pure happiness and joy in living the gospel. It is not always easy, but the peace I find in doing so is so much greater than any sacrifices I may have to make.

How I live my faith

I have many opportunities to serve in our community. I have the opportunity to work with the young women in our church. We have weekly, weekday activities which focus on helping these young women to prepare for their future. It is great to see the strength of the youth, they are amazing! I have had so much fun! I have also had the chance to organize activities for our ward. We have done service projects, parties, cultural events (learning about different cultures), Christmas programs and dinners, luaus and many other things! I also have the opportunity to volunteer at my children's school. It is so fun to see all of the children and to be able to help them and encourage them. It is especially rewarding to be able to help a child that is struggling and to see a light in their eyes when they understand, or when they feel like someone cares about them. I strive to daily to be a good example. To be understanding and compassionate, loving and honest. My greatest work is done within the walls of my own home. I try to make my home a place where anyone who enters feels welcome and loved, especially my own children. We have opened our home on several occasions to people and family members that needed a place to stay.
