Hi I'm Julie

I'm a wife, stepmother, and homemaker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read! I have a book on CD in my car at all times. I grew up in California and then went to Brigham Young University, followed by a mission to Sendai, Japan. I learned American Sign Language at BYU and ended up with the opportunity to interpret for the deaf and hard of hearing for several years. Four years ago, I got married to the man of my dreams and moved to Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

Until I was eleven years old, we didn't have any religion in our home. When I was eight, my grandfather passed away. That was the first time I had experienced the death of a loved one. I didn't know where he was or if he even existed anymore. I didn't know about God or my relationship with Him. It was devastating. Three years later, a Mormon family moved in next door to us. They started inviting us over for Family Nights and then to church. We took the missionary discussions and there I learned that not only will I see my grandfather again, but that I will have the opportunity of continuing my relationship with him. I was thrilled! Hearing the truths of the gospel was such a relief and comfort to me. It felt right, like I had known it all along. This gospel is true and I am so grateful for the knowledge I have that God lives and has a plan for me. And I am grateful for the peace and hope it gives me.

How I live my faith

I work with the adult women of my church in assisting the poor and needy and in fellowshipping and strengthening each other. We organize monthly activities that teach us about temporal and spiritual preparedness. We visit the sisters in their homes.

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is the oldest and largest women's organization in the world. Relief Society was established in 1842 for women 18 years of age and older. We hold Sunday classes, have monthly activities that teach us about temporal and spiritual preparedness, and are given opportunities to serve others. As a member of Relief Society, I and my family are richly blessed. Show more Show less
