Hi I'm Hailey Mayle

I'm from Colorado, USA. I served a mission in New Hampshire, USA. I love music. I love to learn and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from Northern Colorado and my greatest passion is music - it is a huge part of my life and is the one thing that really brings me closer to my Father in Heaven. I served a mission for 18 months in New Hampshire and Maine, which taught me how much I love to bring happiness to others. Because of this wonderful experience, I want to use what I love most to help others find peace and joy in their lives - I'd love to serve my fellow men by earning a degree in Music Therapy. Music calms the heart and heals the soul. I believe that because it doesn't speak in words, but in feelings and through the Spirit of the Lord, it is at least one of the languages of God. Besides music, I love to read, ride horses, go camping, spend lots of time with friends and travel. The temple, wherever I am, is my favorite place to go! I have an older brother who served a mission in Frankfurt, Germany and studied at BYU. He passed away June 1, 2013 while hiking on Y Mountain in Provo, UT. He is the second greatest example I have to follow. The first is Christ. I also have a younger sister who attends BYU-Idaho! My parents are amazing! My dad is Baptist, loves the Lord and does all he can to be a great father. I love him to death and am grateful for all he has taught me. My mom is a convert who always wants to serve others and strengthen them by her example. She and my dad both did an excellent job of raising us kids with firm testimonies in the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the principles and standards that are taught are true. I know that they are a result of a loving God, who truly cares for each of us, His Children. When my brother left on his mission, that really showed me that this work is important. Important enough that he, and thousands of other young men and women would devote 18 months to 2 years of their lives bringing others unto Christ. My testimony has been strengthened even more since the death of my brother. He was one of the most Christ-like people I have ever known and hearing stories from so many people has shown me that he made that light shine throughout all the lives he touched. I truly believe that Heavenly Father needed my brother on the other side of the veil because he had already, by the age of 22, learned all that he needed to learn here on Earth. All of this has shown me and testified to me that there really is no other way. We are taught everything in this Gospel to become better people and if all of this brings us closer to godliness, it must be good and true. I have prayed, read the scriptures, and talked to family, friends and leaders in order to find the truth. The Spirit of the Lord has witnessed the truth to me and THAT is why I live the principles and standards of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Without a spiritual witness from God Himself, you can't know truth. I testify to you that there is a God. He and His Son, Jesus Christ are watching over us, and they love us. We are God's children and we should always strive to reach our divine potential.

How I live my faith

I live as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints every day of my life by trying to be an example in kindness, honesty, modesty and love. I bear my testimony when I can to show that I KNOW there is a God and that this church is the true church. I keep a blog where I post my thoughts and testimony of various Gospel principles each week. Every Sunday, I attend three hours of church. I serve in my ward (congregation) as a Family History Leader. That means I get to help the members of my ward learn more about who they are through their ancestors. I study the scriptures daily to guide me through my life. I always have a prayer in my heart that I will be able to do the will of the Lord. I am His Daughter and I have great potential to help Him accomplish His work - to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man (Moses 1:39). I make sure that I incorporate what I know to be true in every day conversations with members and non-members alike. The Gospel of Jesus Christ isn't just a part of my life - it is who I am. I never want to do anything contrary to it, and I never want to be less than I have the potential to be. The Gospel helps us to grow into our Divine Potential as children of our Heavenly Parents. Because I served a full-time mission, I learned how to apply my testimony, the knowledge of the truth. Before, I simply knew it was true. Now, I know what to do with that knowledge. I know what I can do to bring others and myself closer to Heavenly Father and I know what I can do to help others and myself receive the greatest happiness in this life and true joy in the life to come. First and foremost: I live what I learn from the scriptures, from the Spirit, from attending church meetings and from hearing the testimonies of others. I live it because I know it's true.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Hailey Mayle
This church is Christ's church, restored in the latter days. Our name - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - says this. Joseph Smith was a servant of God to fully restore the church that Christ had established while He was here on Earth. He did not invent this religion. He simply followed God's word to restore it to the earth so that all could come unto Him and know what He wants/needs us to do in order to return to Him when the time comes. Show more Show less
