Hi I'm Emily

I love to sing, I love cats, and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Emily and I'm a missionary! I was originally called to serve in Brazil, but for now I've been re-assigned to the Nashville, Tennessee mission until my visa is ready! I'm so happy to be here and have already met so many amazing people. The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought so much joy into my life and I want to share that joy with others. That's why I'm on a mission. I want everyone to feel the peace and direction and love that I feel every day--the overall sense of well being that comes from truly knowing and loving our Savior Jesus Christ. I am a student, a singer, a writer, I believe everyone should love cats, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

This church has a lot to offer, but the most important thing for me is comfort. Life is hard. We could all use a little help. With the restored power of God's priesthood on the earth we are able to be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost to be our constant companion. Through prayer I am able to feel Christ's love for me and his arms around me comforting me when I need encouragement. He answers my prayers and I know that as long as I'm trying my best, I can truly rely on divine help from heaven. Being Mormon gives me a strong sense of identity, direction, and peace. It's beautiful.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Mormon church I pay tithing--10% of my earnings--and an additional offering to those less fortunate when I can. I also love serving my peers in visiting others and sharing my testimony with them. I go to the temple when I can to perform work for the dead, and try to do family history work from home using ldsfamilysearch and indexing programs. I've also dabbled in leading music programs and organizing activities for young adults. Overall, I hope I can be a good example in my everyday life. I try to be kind and loving and to follow Christ's example. I'm excited to share with others the peace that I feel and I hope I can give the people in Sao Paulo a chance to find that same happiness if they choose to receive it.
