Hi I'm Joshua Brown

I'm a musician, I'm a proud geek, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a Mission to Everett Washington. Before I was here, I lived in Mesa, Arizona. If you could use a single word to describe me, I would use the word "Peculiar". As a hobby, I made some mad sick beats with the Drumline. For work, I was employed in detail (A.K.A. washing cars) at a car dealership with my father. My idea of fun is hanging out with my friends doing all sorts of geeky things such as going on quests during a Dungeons and Dragons session. When I go home and retire as a full time missionary, I plan on going to BYU-I for a degree in...something. I have had several ideas, I want to go into information technology, but I really like working with my hands. Sitting in a desk is absolutely NOT what I want to do with my life. I plan to marry, and have a wonderful family.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a member of this church simply because I know too much to ever leave. Peter said it better than I ever could: "Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God." (John 6:68-69) People will stand you up and say "You really believe in that?", if you are in condition, if you are sure about what you feel, then you are immovable. There is no magnitude of force, no amount of money, no combination of words that is on this planet that could take me away from this gospel. This IS God's Kingdom upon this earth, I testify of this divine truth, Jesus Christ as my witness.

How I live my faith

Right now, as I serve my mission, I realize that there is no other way to live my faith. When we are baptized, it is done in the name of Jesus Christ, by the authority of Jesus Christ, and it is his name that we take upon us as we make the baptismal covenant. This mission has made this promise so clear in my head for the first time in my life. We are in all ways his disciple. The defining characteristic of this promise is stated so plainly in John 13:34-35. "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." I realized that the best way to live our faith is to have Charity. Charity NEVER faileth. We are all sons and daughters of God. We all struggle, we all have challenges, as King Benjamin says, "are we not all beggars?". If "Charity never faileth", why not go and try to love everyone the best I can? That's the least I could do for our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Joshua Brown
To put it simply, the only way to join the church is through two young missionaries. These representatives, either male or female, are disciples of Jesus Christ. They sacrifice 18 months to two years of their life dedicated to bringing people closer to Christ. Christ taught that in order to become saved in the kingdom of God, you must be baptized by water and of the spirit. So as Latter Day Saints, we believe that we must be Baptized by immersion, and given the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. These sacred ordinances grant membership into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Show more Show less
