Hi I'm Jeremy

I'm a professional drummer and teacher. I owe my savior Jesus Christ for everything good in my life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a very imperfect person, but I've always had a yearning to do what was right and please my Heavenly father because I've felt such a love for him and gratitude for what he has done for me. I served a mission for my Savior because I felt so grateful for what he has done for me in my life, and I wanted to share that joy and knowledge with others. I served in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. I love the Puertoricans and the people of these islands. Yo soy boriqua de pura sepa! I came home and married my best friend. We just hung out together for too long and eventually fell in love! :-) We started our family while I was still working on my undergrad. It was hard, but I new it was right for us, I knew Heavenly father would help me provide for my family even if it meant things would be tough for a while. For my career I have chosen to be an educator and a performer. I'm a drummer and a percussionists. I teach private lessons and do gigs, and studio work. My family is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have a young daughter and son. I'm grateful for the knowledge that I have of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and of the "Good News" of his Atonement for mankind. I'm grateful to be able to have this knowledge to pass on to my kids, and answer their questions when they ask where they came from, why they are here, and where we go after this life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the church officially because I was baptised when I was eight years old after having had a worthiness interview where I was asked if I had faith in Jesus Christ and if I accepted him as my personal savior and if I promised to try my best for the rest of my life to follow him and his teachings. This is why I am a member, but the reason I have stayed a member and why I still consider myself a Mormon is because in many instances through out my life I have sought spiritual confirmations to questions I have had about the Book of Mormon and the Church of Jesus Christ and have received these whiteness in the affirmative. I have read the Book of Mormon several times and have received a confirmation from the Holy Ghost many times of it's truthfulness. I know that God answers prayers and I know he wants me to know his truth if I seek it. Since I know the Book of Mormon is true I also know the man who claimed to have translated was a prophet of God. That man was Joseph Smith. He restored Christ's church on this earth, with it's original organization, which hadn't existed since his apostles were skattered and killed of almost 2000 years ago. Through this organization God directs his work here on the earth as he did in the past, but with the difference being that now is the latter-days, in which all of his work will culminate in preparation for his second coming, when he'll return to the earth as prophesied. I know that God continues to call prophets and apostles in our day to direct his work and prepare the world for his coming. Through confirmations of the spirit I also know President Monson to be our current prophet for our day. I know that in order to find this information out for ourselves, all we need to do is to willingly ask Heavenly Father in prayer, and have faith in his ability and willingness to answer our questions.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying do my best to apply Christ's gospel principles in my life and specifically with my relationships with others. I fail a lot, but am grateful for the atonement that our Savior performed for us, enabling us to repent and renew our efforts. I try daily to pray and read my scriptures and to share the gospel with others around me, either by example, facebook, or speaking with others :-) I try to uplift my friends and family with the good news of God's message, and with the inspiring words of his current apostles and prophet. I also have a volunteer calling in my local ward or church group. I serve with the youth in helping organize activities like devotionals, dances, dinners, etc. I love my calling, which was given to me with out asking, because it allows me to share my love of the gospel with others and help them learn of the Lord's love for them.
