Hi I'm Maleia

I'm A Ranch Wife... and I'm A Mormon

About Me

I feel so privileged to live life that allows me to make a living doing what I love! I am the wife of a rancher, the mother of two young children, and one of the caretakers of a great deal of cattle and several horses. My husband and I once lived a life within the hustle and bustle of the city and made a good living doing so; however, there was always something inside of us that yearned for something different... something more enriching. Everyone has something that brings them peace, something that provides an outlet from the pressures & expectations of life, something that compels them to be a better person. That is what living on a large ranch does for me every day. It allows me an opportunity to constantly be reminded of God's magnificent power in nature. It allows me an opportunity to be more self-sufficient. It allows me an opportunity to work side by side with my husband, a man who constantly exemplifies the divine stewardship of man over the land & it's animals. It allows me an opportunity to teach my children very crucial life lessons as they so often organically occur. Most of all, it allows an opportunity for my family to become solidified in purpose and in love for each other. What more can woman wish for for her family? I know of one thing. And I would like to share with you what that is! It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because through diligent prayer, study of the scriptures, and practice of it's teachings, I have found more happiness in this world than I ever could have found otherwise. The most precious events and moments in my life stem from trying to live the teachings of Jesus Christ. This church's teachings have helped me to come to know my Savior in a most profound way... that He has provided a way for us not only to return to Him, but to become like Him. He has provided a way for us to be with our families not only until death, but for all eternity. The Gospel of Jesus Christ provides an eternal perspective to our life here on earth... one that gives us strength through our trials, that compels us to be better people within our families & communities, that gives us the desire to right our wrong-doings, and most of all, to help share this wonderful message with those who seek the truth. I testify that through my prayer and study, I have come to know for myself that Jesus is the Christ and that He lives! I know that the Book of Mormon truly is another testament of Him and was translated by the prophet Joseph Smith through divine power. I know that Joseph truly saw God the Father and His Son and was given the keys to restoring the priesthood again to the earth. I know that our Heavenly Father is mindful of each of us and will give us the answers we seek by the power of the Holy Ghost, as long as we ask in faith... nothing wavering. I know that even though we all make mistakes and may travel so far off the beaten path that we find no hope, that He is always there with open arms to welcome us and show us the path that leads to eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by striving to put into practice the things I know to be true. So often I fall short, but it is the knowledge of the Atonement that helps me to inventory my actions and correct my course. This is something I must do on a daily basis as I am so far from perfect. I know that if I always strive to become more like my Savior, and see life's challenges & experiences as opportunities to do so, I know I will continually become strengthened and be able to strengthen all those around me. It is by attending church each week, keeping in constant communication with my Heavenly Father, and studying His scriptures each day that I am constantly reminded of what is truly important. I see how when I am diligent in doing the things I know to be right, my ability to be the woman I wish to become and my ability to touch others' lives is greatly enhanced.
