Hi I'm Brett

I grew up in a small town. I like to call it my village. I am currently going to school studying Geography. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. Give me any season and I will enjoy an activity outside. I love to wakeboard, snowboard, hike/canyoneer, and making dutch oven food. One of the things I enjoy most about the outdoors is the feeling of peace I have when I look up at the stars. I am currently going to college and enjoying it. I was recently married to the love of my life. Being with family is also one of my favorite hobbies. I love just playing in the backyard with them, making ice cream, eating dinner, or going to an event together. When I am with my family, I am happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be. It is a personal decision for me to attend church every week and to follow the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ. When I read from the Book of Mormon or sincerely pray to my Heavenly Father, I feel His love. I know that I am doing the right thing. I feel happiness when I learn more things about the gospel. When I try my very best to follow the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I get warm feelings of love, peace, happiness, and joy. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and he wants me to live with him again. I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can be cleansed from my sins. I know that by following the teachings of the Savior and his living day prophets, I can one day return to live with Him.

How I live my faith

The greatest thing I have done so far in my life to live my faith was serving a mission to share the gospel with people who have not had the opportunity to hear about it. I was able to travel to a foreign country for 2 years to share with others the gospel I know to be true. I gained a great love for the people I met. At times I felt like I was able to see them through Heavenly Fathers eyes rather than through my own personal judgmental eyes. Many people we taught came to know for themselves that the church is true and they were able to be baptized. The joy seen on their faces as they were baptized brought such excitement to my soul. I continue to live my faith by participating in church callings. Currently I help to keep the church building locked up and cleaned. I try my best to read the scriptures. I pray daily with my wife. Sometimes I just sit and ponder about the future and my dreams. I think about what I need to be doing now so that those dreams can become a reality.
