Hi I'm Clark

I grew up in Eastern Utah. I went to college and started a family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to ride and maintain my motorcycle. I play video games and hold two computer jobs. I try to be frugal with my money and make it stretch so my kids can go to college and I will be able to have a comfortable retirement. I try to keep up with current events and understand the world around me. I maintain my own pool and I love living in warm climates. Maintaining the house has become more of a hobby than I like but it keeps bills from being too high. I don't like camping a lot but I do it for my kids. I find my kids to be rather amusing most of the time. They say some of the funniest things especially when they aren't trying to be funny.

Why I am a Mormon

I read the Book of Mormon as a teenager and was moved by the description of Christ's compassion for the people of the American continent. I would be an atheist if it were not for that book. The Bible has a lot of moving stories and has provided many truths for me but it has been translated several times and seems more second hand. Since that experience, I have prayed and had many experiences that have reaffirmed the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have felt Christ's and Heavenly Father's love in many situations in my life. I also feel that the Atonement is necessary to overcome the confusion and hurt that surrounds us in what can seem a miserable and confused world. I have also felt that many of my shortcomings can be reconciled by the love of a caring savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church, reading the scriptures with my children (we finished the Book of Mormon and are now reading the New Testament), praying most nights, having Family Home Evening most weeks and going to the temple. Most of my co-workers know that I don't drink coffee or alcohol. I try to be an example of Jesus Christ by being fair and honest. I keep a journal and a poor excuse for a garden. I go camping with the 16 and 17 year old boys when required and I meet every Tuesday night for youth activities. I also help with reports and set up meeting agendas. I have also helped with Habitat for Humanity and other non-church related charities.

In whom should we have faith?

Clark
We should have faith in Jesus Christ and God, his father. They communicate with us through the whispering of the Holy Ghost. Science has been constantly changing for years but the principles of happiness have not. We need to set a moral compass and not let fashion or trends affect what we know to be right.
