Hi I'm Brittany

I'm a wife, a daughter, a sister, a runner and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my husband since 2007 who is a non-member. He has 3 kids from a previous marriage and we currently do not have any children of our own. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and traveling to different places. I also like to run and recently completed a half marathon in 2010. I currently work full-time as an administrative assistant.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised in the church I fell away when I was in my 20’s. I always knew that the church was true, I just wasn’t ready to make the commitment. But ever since my father’s funeral which occurred in April of 2009, I had a desire to come back to church. That same month I started reading the Book of Mormon on my own, which I haven’t really done in my entire adult life. It was amazing to see the Lord speaking directly to me. Sometimes just one word would pop out; sometimes sentences. The Gospel is Heavenly Fathers plan of happiness and I was happy to have it restored in my life again. I have seen the softening of hearts in my family, broken things mended, wonderful friendships formed, the touch of the spirit in my home, I’ve been taught and inspired by general conference, bishoprics, teachers, and home teachers. I feel so blessed to have the peace in my life again. I am truly grateful to know that there is so much more to this life here on earth and to know that I will be reunited with my family once again.

How I live my faith

I teach the kids in our church who are turning 8, whom I love dearly. Even though, it can be a bit of a challenge at times, I love being able to teach them. I know that reading the scriptures and saying my prayers on a daily basis has not only increased my faith, but has helped me to build a strong relationship with my Heavenly Father. When I am struggling, I know I can turn to my Heavenly Father for guidance. I try to live my life as Christ has taught; by example.
