Hi I'm Linda

I'm from Tempe, AZ. I love my husband and 6 children I am a teacher. I love my former and current students. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived most of my life in Tempe; however, I did live in Central America for close to two years. So, yes, I do speak Spanish and love the Latin culture. I was raised in a good home with 5 brothers and for many years our family had a dear Navajo sister my age, who I have very tender feelings for. My husband and I have-- and are raising 4 sons and 2 daughters. One of our most favorite times is when we can get together and share life with them all together. I enjoy traveling—especially cruises. I also enjoy dancing, reading, crafts, oil painting and am a ‘dare devil’ who loves the highest roller coasters and scariest fair and amusement park rides.

Why I am a Mormon

• God loves all of His children who have ever lived on this earth and there is a plan for all to receive His blessings, knowledge and love. This is important to me because there have been many who have not had the same opportunity as I and it wouldn’t be fair that they would be eternally lost. Our Father in Heaven is a fair and just God who cares for all of His children and has rich blessings for each of us. It is so comforting to me that all of our brother and sisters will not be lost. • There is a great plan and purpose for me being here on this earth. I know where I came from, I know why I am here and I know what the plan is after this life. I find great joy, peace, hope and comfort knowing and understanding this plan. • My family can be an eternal unit forever. I do not want to lose my family in death. Heaven would not be so wonderful for me without them. By viewing my family with an eternal perspective it encourages me to do and be my best. • I have applied the promise in the Book of Mormon in Moroni 10:3-5 and have come to know for myself that the Book of Mormon and teachings are true. • I have followed the principles Jesus Christ taught while on this earth and I have found that by so doing my life is happier and more peaceful and far better than when I have not. I have also applied the Savior’s atonement in my life and have received of its grace and healing power. I love my Savior and witness that He lives and loves us and desires to help and lift us. • These items and more bring great joy, power and peace to my life.

How I live my faith

I have discovered love is one of the greatest powers in this life. As a wife and mother and a teacher of many teenage students I have found I have the greatest ability to influence, help and teach when a strong sense of love is present. I encourage my own children and students to reach high in school work and personal standards and to do their best in all areas of their lives. And I rejoice in their successes. That ability to love, especially challenging personalities comes from a divine connection and knowing they are also beloved children of God. Regularly I call upon the powers in Heaven through prayer to guide me, teach me, and to bless those in need. We regularly feast on the scriptures. We fill our home with inspiring music that brings a sacred beauty. I try my best to live as if my Savior is at my side, making choices that build me and others, and when I make a mistake I repent and change. Service is an important part of living my faith for me also. For many years I served as a den mother in Cub Scouts. Even now I often am able to be on the board-of-review as some of these same boys progress through the Scouting program. It brings me great satisfaction to see these young men progress in the life skills they are learning, but I find even greater joy seeing them develop the character traits to become true men of God. Currently my husband and I are serving weekly in an Addiction Recovery Program. We assist and point to the path of release to those who are trapped by addiction and its ravaging effects. We have been witnesses over and over of the divine help and love of our Savior’s atonement when it is applied.

What is the Relief Society?

Linda
Relief Society is a wonderful women's organization that helps us in so many areas of our lives. I have learned so many skills that helps me manage my home and family, gained knowledge in many areas both spiritual and temporal that have made my life and my family's life better. I really enjoy getting with the women of our ward and serving with them to help those in need, learning helpful information, and my favorite is Super Saturday when we make awesome items for gifts or our homes. I have been so blest by the women in my ward too. During times of sickness, surgery or of need, help is readily available. I am so grateful to be a member of Relief Society! Show more Show less
