Hi I'm Aaron

I live in Colorado and work in the Colorado state prison system. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am forty eight years old and I have worked in the Criminal Justice system for twenty one years. I currently work as a Lieutenant in the Colorado state prison system. I am the eighth of thirteen children. Two children our from my fathers first marriage, a little girl died just a few weeks after birth and another girl died at birth. I love scouting, fishing, hiking, camping, gardening and shooting. I wrestled in high school and in college and I was pretty good at the sport. I served a full time Church mission in England where I learned to love the people that I shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with. When I returned home I met my wife of twenty six years in an LDS Institute class. I have seven children and my eighth and ninth grand children are on their way.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and my family has been members of the church for many generations. As a child I watched my father live an unrighteous life that caused him to be excommunicated from the church twice. I questioned the teaching of the church and explored many other religions, because the way that I was raised. I came to know the the teaching and the doctrines of the Gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints are true. In fact the more I study the Mormon Gospel and compared it's teachings with that of other religions I've come to the knowledge that the Gospel that I was taught in church as a child is perfect, but the people are imperfect, including my father. Now as a forty eight year old man I have come to appreciate the atonement of Jesus Christ that makes it possible to repent and improve my life each day. I have looked very hard for holes or contradictions in the the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but have found none. I have a very sound understanding of the Gospel through my studies, but more importunately I have prayed long and hard to know if The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is true or not. I can tell you without a shadow of doubt that the church is true, for the Holy Spirit has touched my heart and mind in ways that are hard to explain. I also have tried it Gospel principles and through obedience to them my life has been greatly blessed. I love the Holy Bible and all the teaching found there in, that if lived by can lead you back to our Heavenly Fathers presents. I also love the Book of Mormon and know it is the the word of God. The Book of Mormon is the gospel of Jesus Christ taught to the early inhabitants of the American continent. The gospel principles found in the Holy Bible and those found in the Book of Mormon are the same. They back each other up perfectly without contradiction. I am not prefect by no means, but I have hope and I know that through Jesus Christ I can be come prefect as he has commanded.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ keeps me going. It gives me reason to repent and improve my relationships with my Heavenly Father, my family and to be a good citizen, a quality employee and a good friend to others. I am a normal male with appetites and desires of a natural man. I struggle with issue that a lot of others struggle with every day. How I live my faith is with a lot of support from friends and family. I attend church as often as possible, weekly. I also share the Gospel as a Home teacher with several other families in my area and I have Home teachers that share Gospel with my family. I have had the privilege to teach the young children, teenagers and the adults in the church. I also find myself on my knees thanking the Lord for all that I have and pleading for help from the Lord with all of life's struggles, because I know that I can't make it through this life on my own. I am a very physically able man, but I know that I am nothing without the Lord and my family. The Gospel that has been restored by Jesus Christ to a young boy named Joseph Smith in 1820 has all power and authority to act in God's name and also has the the complete plan of salvation that will return us back to our Heavenly Fathers presents if we live by the doctrine found there in.
