Hi I'm Cindy Bowles

I'm a wife, a mother of 6 grown children, a new grandmother of 3, an artist, a singer, an educator and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

We are not empty-nesters yet as four of our 6 children are in college and living at home and I am also grandmother of 3, an aunt, sister and friend to many. I love to illustrate, sing, write and am an educator with a creative, silly personality that tries to make life and learning an enjoyable experience. I started out this 2011-2012 school year teaching full-time in a dual-language, multi-age class for grades 2 and 3 as the bread-winner for our busy family when my husband lost his job. Daily I looked at each one of my energetic students as a precious son or daughter of God that they truly are. However, I developed a medical condition that will not allow me to work at the rigorous pace that teaching demands and so I hope and pray that my students will remember how special and important each of them are, to always strive to do their best, to work things out for the better when they have a "boo-boo," and how much I love them. Now without a decent income, we are going forward with faith knowing that we are beloved children of a loving Heavenly Father and trust in HIM and the Lord, Jesus Christ to show us how to provide for our family. Despite the many and varied difficulties in mortality we all face, I have come to know that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father and that HE is greatly blessing me and that I can help HIM and the Savior, Jesus Christ bless others. I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, an artist, creative teacher, a daughter of GOD…and I am a MORMON!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in an active LDS family, but just like everyone...I needed to know for myself if the restored gospel of Jesus Christ was true. I truly began reading the scriptures and asking in prayer for myself in high school and my first years of college if the gospel was true. In an college program of art, many of my fellow students got into religious discussions in our classes. One young man was the son of a preacher and he declared that I was brainwashed by my family to believe in that "Mormon" faith. This philosophy of his shocked me...and so I continued to diligently seek the truth. Line upon line, precept upon precept, I felt the answers come through the Holy Ghost to enlighten my mind, heart and soul of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and knew this was the path I wanted to follow. I decided to transfer to Utah Technical College (now Utah Valley University) and to BYU to continue my general and art college studies. With my very own and very sweet testimony, I felt nurtured in the amazing student atmosphere at BYU and got a very special witness in prayer that the Lord wanted me to serve a full-time mission. I went home to Arizona in December of 1978 to prepare to serve and was a full-time sister missionary from March 1979 to September 1980 in the Chile Santiago South Mission sharing the restored gospel of Jesus Christ with all my heart, soul and might. This challenging, yet wonderful experience helped to solidify my commitment to the Lord, His gospel and to eternal families!

How I live my faith

The older I get, the more I realize how far away from perfection I am...but I realize that I am humbled and become more teachable in the perfection process of becoming more like our Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ...and that we are all in this together. I volunteer to serve in our church community however and whenever I can. I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve a full-time mission, participate in wonderful projects to help others, teach children, teenagers and adults gospel lessons and music, and I am nurtured and strengthened by others who are willing to teach me! The blessings of the gospel for me and my precious family keep me going, striving to do the best I can daily! These great blessings are available for you and for everyone.
