Hi I'm Rebecca

I grew up in Washington state. I am a wife, mother, singer, and body wellness worker. I help people find their joy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife to the most amazing husband and mom of a wonderful child (I may be a bit partial). I'm the sister to a miraculous first-time cancer surviving sister of a very rare cancer who I'm helping work towards making her dream to be a singer come true. I'm an amazing friend. I'm really happy with where my life is currently. By trade blessed as a holistic body worker, clinically therapeutic massage therapist, and manifestor. I have experienced many trials in my life of many types which has given me a little wisdom. I try to take one day at a time living in balance, love to go hiking, canoeing and kayaking, camping, pretty much anything outdoors, and am an active participant in my community when I can. I taught ballroom dance for a while and absolutely love dancing. It's one of my greatest passions after my family, along with holistic wellness. I love spending time with loved ones, learning and reading. I have a bit of a voracious appetite for learning and education. I love to see how things work and how they work together in all areas of life. I love to travel and see new things and meet new people, have new experiences. My family is my greatest inspiration and support along with the gospel. I don't know where I would be without it. It brings so much happiness to me. I love seeing the miracles of God's hand in my life and my progression. He really is in all the details and wants us all to be so happy. I love people, I love helping others, and I love my life! I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

All my life I have grown up with a knowledge of the gospel. My mother's family was born in the church going back all the way to the early saints of the church and my father's family were new converts to the gospel. Consequently my father found wisdom in teaching us everything he knew about every type of religion and their history that they had done deep research on from each individual church out there. They had spent a lot of years in their quest to find a church that had all the points that Christ's original church had on the earth when he first organized it during His life. My grandfather felt that only a church that had all of that could be Christ's true, full church and he set out with his family to find it. My father told us kids growing up that everyone at some time of their life will have to pray and find out what is true and what they really believe and so did we, so he loaded us up with knowledge and the skills to seek truth and recognize it by using the holy spirit that God has promised to all men to verify the truthfulness of all things and the scriptures to guide us. My whole life I felt very surely that the scriptures were the word of God and felt especially close to Him while reading the Book of Mormon. I knew it was full of truth. Every time I prayed about it I always felt a calm reassuring peacefulness that it was true and I could see the positive fruits of it in my life as I tried applying what I learned from both it and the Bible. They both backed up the revelations of the other and the prophecies of the prophets about Christ, the Atonement that he made for all men, how much God wants us to be happy in this life and how to do that. Everything in His plan is to help us learn to be the most happy. I have seen more clarity in my life, more peace, and more understanding come as I have tried to apply it no matter how many difficult trials have been my lot to pass through. The gospel has shown me how to make trials into stepping stones so I may see.

How I live my faith

I have had many wonderful opportunities in my community and my church allowing me to participate in improving the places where I have lived ranging from serving as president at my child's pre-school, serving as an education specialist for the PTA at my child's school, public relations specialist, working with multiple religions to bring the community together, and working as a single adult representative for my ward at church and helping those in my situation to find opportunities to serve in multiple places and have fun together at dances or other events. I have served as a member of a group of humanitarian women providing relief and comfort to those in the communities I have lived in on a personal, individual basis and tending to the spiritual as well as temporal welfare of those under my stewardship as well as globally who have been affected by floods, fires, earthquakes and other disasters. I have been blessed so much from these opportunities as well as those teaching sisters how to develop their skills and talents, learn more about the life of Christ teaching Sunday School to children and classes to Adults as well. I have developed my musical talents and been allowed to share those with others as well by serving in choirs, leading music in various meetings and teaching others to do the same, as well as confidence in speaking and presenting lessons in front of people as well. I have brought teenagers together that were struggling at an all girl's camp and seen their love and respect for each other increase as their testimonies that Christ loves them did as well. I have had the joy of teaching people to ballroom dance and decorating dances and to help in planning area conferences and dinners. I pray to God in gratitude and thank him for my blessings, I read the scriptures including the Bible and the Book of Mormon, which is a second witness of Jesus Christ, I look for opportunities to help my fellow man and seek for treasures of wisdom and truth in all things.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Rebecca
Families are our safe ground from the harshness of the world. It is where we have reflected back to us the things we can improve in ourselves with God's help. It is where we learn to love the way God would have us love and be loved as he would love us or at least do our best to learn it. We help each other and support with our own special gifts and talents, strengths and weaknesses. God gave us a great gift by giving us families. A gift that can bring us our greatest joys and our greatest growing opportunities. I don't know who said it but I love it and think the quote is so true: "Family is a journey to forever" I'm so thankful for my family. I have learned so much from them. I know that we were put in our families for a reason. I know we are part of God's family and we are here on Earth because he loves us very much and he wants us to become like he is...complete and perfect. Show more Show less
