Hi I'm Wendel

I retired as a nurse anesthetist. I also retired from the USAF and was stationed in Germany, Vietnam and the US. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 1 Great-grandson and 2 cats (Ocicats named Reggie and Ronnie). My wife and I are going to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in December. Our children hosted a family get together to celebrate it in August (they wanted to avoid snow in December). I have retired from my second career as a nurse anesthetist and my first career in the USAF. The Air Force (I enlisted when I was 19) was great for me. I was sent to get my BSN at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and then to get my CRNA at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, Lackland AFB, TX. Enjoyed the people I served with and the experiences I had. Now, I am just sitting back, watching the clouds move across the sky and doing whatever I want ( unless my wife has something else in mind).

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and grandparents were all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I never doubted the truthfulness of the Church. I did gain my own testimony through small steps during my life. Four months after our civil marriage, I was able to baptize my wife (thanks to a couple of young missionaries who helped teach her). Since then we have been married in the Swiss temple in Bern, Switzerland for eternity. While serving in Viet Nam, several experiences left me with no doubt of the truthfulness of The Church and Heavenly Father's plan of happiness. The love of our Heavenly Father and of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, strengthens me and provides me with a calm surety of our purpose here on Earth. I am grateful for knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that He wants us to return to Him when our mortal lives are finished and to be eternal families.

How I live my faith

My wife and I are in our seventies. We like to take advantage of every opportunity to partake of the blessings that Heavenly Father has provided for us by attending meetings and striving to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I have served in many callings (capacities) during my life. On the local level as clerk, teacher, advisor, as a Stake Mission President and High Councilman. My wonderful wife and I also served a mission in Virginia.
