Hi I'm Lisa

I grew up in Arizona. I love to learn. I love the outdoors. I love spending time with my family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am family centered. I am a wife and a mother of 5. I graduated with a bachelors in child development and family relations. I've always enjoyed observing and learning about people and relationships, especially within families. Ironically,  my greatest challenges have revolved around relationships. I married in my early 20's and after 3 years and my first child. My husband walked away.  I remarried had four more children and 11 years later my husband was killed in a plane accident.  On my third attempt, I married a widower with 4 children so we began raising a blended family with 9 children.  The years have been full of challenges, but with each one I have grown stronger as an individual, realized what was truly important and have gotten closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ.  I have leaned on my faith, knowledge, beliefs, family, friends, but most importantly on my Heavenly Father who loves me, watches over me, and wants the best for me.  I don't give up easily. I love to serve others. I love to bring my children and grandchildren together often to share, laugh and make memories. I have found family bonding to be the most satisfying of all.   I center my life around my family and Jesus Christ.  It is important to me to build relationships that I believe will continue after this life.  We strive to be a forever family so we can be with the ones who have passed on.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ.  I want to develop His characteristics of being kind, gentle, loving, meek, patient, long-suffering and most of all doing good to all men.  What better way to become more like Him, than to be encouraged by a living prophet, local church leaders, family-oriented programs, studying scriptures, daily prayer and weekly reminders of becoming Christ-like.  I am a Mormon because I love my family and want to be with them forever.  I live God's commandments, keep sacred covenants and ordinances so I can have the opportunity to be with my family throught eternity.   I know their is a Savior who atoned for my sins, weaknesses, and my emotional and physical pain. I know I can repent and once again feel the joy that comes with trying to be the person I want to become. I love being a Mormon because I love Heavenly Father's plan of happiness.

How I live my faith

I was raised in a Mormon family with a long line of Mormon pioneers. I had the examples of loving family members who became who they are because of their belief in Jesus Christ and His teachings. I love to be surrounded by good people, good influences, and good examples of faith. i love to serve and see the joy in the the eyes of the receiver.  I've had the privilege to work and learn among children, youth, and adults of all ages as a member of the mormon church.  For someone like me who was a shy child I have learned to be a leader because of the positions I have served in the church and community. I live my faith by serving where ever I am needed. I've learned no matter where I served it was given to me to stretch and grow. I am currently serving in my community as an outreach specialist.  I  encourage others to reach out and get to know their neighbors. It is important to know what is going on around us so we can better help those who need service.  I find out what neighbors are ill, having a baby, lost a job, losing a home.  If so, I am the resource to guide them toward help.  Am I shy?  No, not anymore. I've had many opportunities to stand in the forefront and lead. I am a better person because of it. I am also a visiting teacher. I go inside homes of a few women to encourage them, build friendships, and offer help when in need. I live my faith by doing the best I can for myself, my family and others.
