Hi I'm Christie

I grew up in Texas. I was baptized in December 1987. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am divorced, mother of 4 girls, 2 of which want nothing to do with me right now. I love to sew, crochet, read, play the flute and sing. My former husband took the girls but they are now grown. I love to work with computers and have a Masters degree in computers.

Why I am a Mormon

My grandfather was a Methodist minister. He taught me to think for myself when worshiping Heavenly Father. My grandmother insisted that I read the entire Bible. While reading it, I found questions that no one seemed to have the answers to - who were the other sheep Jesus needed to visit?, what happened to most of the 12 tribes?, and so many more. When I learned about the Book of Mormon and hear President Benson's words at the 1st conference I heard, I knew without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true and the Church is true. I have since learned that though the Church is true, people in the Church are still human and that is okay. The Book of Mormon has answered all my questions that I had before joining. Heavenly Father is always there for me whenever I have questions or the need for Him to comfort me. My life is so blessed for having Him in my life. Having the Church in my life has enabled me to be able to make it through the many trials that I have and will be given.

How I live my faith

Service is a major part of my life. I am very good with computers and feel that everyone who wants a computer should have one that works efficiently and properly whether they can afford one or not. I have been in the nursery helping 18 month olds up to 3 year olds start their learning of Christ. I am in the Library at Church so am able to help people have what they need to teach their classes. I get to go visit 3 women every month with my companion who is another woman. We get to teach these women every month, checking to make sure that they are doing okay. Finding out what they need and helping them. We give a lesson which helps us to learn what Heavenly Father wants us to learn as well. There is a friendship that develops.
