Hi I'm Audrey

I grew up in Nebraska, now in Idaho attending school, studying to be an elementary school teacher, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Nebraska being the second oldest of seven children. I coached soccer for 6 years for 5-6 years olds. I graduated high school and am now attending school at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I am hoping that one day I can be an elementary school teacher, wife, and mother. Right now I am an ordinary college student. I have classes and tests as well as roommate drama. But the one thing that keeps me grounded is my faith and knowledge of my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. Things are rarely easy for me and there are times when I feel like everything is hopeless, but then I always turn to prayer and to my scriptures. I always find strength there. I love to work out and go to the gym 6 days a week! I love to weight train, but I also do cardio ( I hear that is good for you too:)) I also love to watch BBC dramas. I cried when Downton Abbey ended! I love to make things and be crafty. I love to decorate and always have pictures everywhere in my apartment. I also love to cook and bake. I also love music. I love to sing, play piano, and tinker on the ukulele. But most of all I love my Savior and my Heavenly Father. I also love my family to pieces! I probably call my mom once every two days and I call my dad at least twice a week. I am close to all of my siblings and love being with them!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. I don't have a cool conversion story but i do have a testimony of this Gospel. When I was eight, I was baptized as an official member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. But before I was baptized, I prayed to know if the Church was true. As an eight year old, I revived the knowledge of the truth of this Church and its teachings. I know that Jesus Christ did in reality atone for the sins of the world and that because of Him we can return to live with our Father in Heaven who loves and cares for us. I know that Joseph Smith was and is a prophet of God. And that he did see God the Father and his son Jesus Christ and they did speak to him. I also know that the prophet of the Church today, Thomas Monson is also called of God. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible work hand in hand to bring the truth to this dispensation.

How I live my faith

Now that I am living on my own, I attend a singles ward where I am a teacher for all of the woman in my ward. I also have pictures all over my apartment that depict Christ so that I can always be reminded of His love for me and what it means to 'Choose the Right'. Every night I read the Book of Mormon and pray to Heavenly Father. I also participate in doing Family History on a regular basis. I love finding my ancestors that have past on and taking their names to the temple to do sacred work for them for their exaltation.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

When our Heavenly Father created Adam and Eve, he told them that they were to multiply and replenish the earth, or to have children, which would make a family. Ever since then, there have been families on the earth. Heavenly Father sends us down to be a part of a family with parents and siblings. If we didn't have parents to teach us and love us, how would we know what is right and what is wrong. They make us who we are. Without them, we would not know what to do. In our society today, there is a push to not get married. But, our Heavenly Father wants us to be married as husband and wife to raise a family(his spirit children) in love and rightousness and lead them back to Him. Show more Show less
