Hi I'm Matt

I'm an Operations Manager, I'm a Scouter, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married father of four. I love that I come from a family where I am one of many brothers and sisters. I am happiest when I am with my family. I love to bake bread. Like every other kid, I have a sweet tooth. I started baking cookies when I was 10 years old. Eventually I started making pies, only to find out that I love to bake bread. I really loved working in a bread bakery. It was when I was working in a bakery that I met my beautiful wife. (I think she liked the smell of bread that was always on me.) I enjoy hiking, camping and exploring the land that I live in.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into a Mormon family, that doesn't mean that I have to remain a life time Mormon. I had to find my way to Christ for myself just those who are searching him. I have found Him when I listened to his servants speak, whether in or out of organized religious services. I have found Him in the words of God, particularly in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I have found Him when I pray. I have found Him when I was in the service of others. He has stuck with me in my loneliness. Strengthened me when I was weak. Forgiven me when I have made efforts to change. (I am not perfect even in the best of lights.) Loved me when I forgot who loved me. Taught me how to live and how to love. Shown me, by example, what I need to do to return home to heaven to live. Reminded me that I am a child of God, I am a Mormon because following and living the teachings of Christ make me happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith when I am helping others. Sometimes that involves helping young people, whether being a substitute Sunday School teacher or working with the Scouting program. Other times it involves being a friend when one is needed. I live my faith one day at a time, trying to always remember the long term goal of returning to live in Heaven with my family and friends.
