Hi I'm Benson

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Salem Oregon and have lived in California and now in Texas.

About Me

I am a husband to a wonderful wife and a father to 3 amazing children. I work in the real estate industry and specifically with charter schools on the west coast. I enjoy spending time with my family, snowboarding, wakeboarding and golf. My favorite sport to watch is Formula 1 and couldn't be more excited that a new F1 track is being built here in Austin

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all of my life. While in my teenage years I really assessed if being a Mormon and a part of the Mormon faith is what I wanted to be. I gained a knowledge and testimony that this church was true and I wanted to be a part of it. My belief in this church was make stronger when I served a two year mission in Southern California. Now having lived almost 40 years, I truly know that my life has been better and I feel more fulfilled because of me being a part of this church.

How I live my faith

Currently I live my faith by teaching my children about God and Jesus Christ. We do this through Family Home Evening. Almost every Monday night we get together as a family to talk about Jesus and about how we can do and be better people. We also talk about family preparedness and what we are doing in our lives. In the church I work with the youth. Every Sunday I am with a class of boys 16 to 18 years old and I get to teach them the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also get to spend one evening a night with them during the week at an even called Mutual. All of the youth, boys and girls, get together to learn about Jesus and have fun activities. I really enjoy being a part of this church. I love attending church and I feel closer to God when I am there. I know it is where I need to be and where my family can grow closer together.
