Hi I'm Janice

I am a network server administrator. I do Tai Chi. I love to quilt and sew. I'm learning German. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of three children and one grandson. Grandparenting is the best. Family is so important. I work as a network server administrator for a local school district. It can be hectic, so when I come home I like to do something totally different: I love to quilt. I've made countless quilts. I come from a long line of pioneer quilters. I love the fact that you can take all these separate pieces of cloth and create a beautiful piece of art. I also love to sew. I sewed my first dress when I was eight years old and have been sewing up a storm ever since. Each work day morning I get up at 3:30 AM so I have time to study the scriptures, do Tai Chi, and go to the gym before work. I love early morning!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Mormon Church when I graduated from high school, married a wonderful man, and had three children. We were active for several years, but gradually stopped attending church. Then I lost my first husband to cancer. Losing someone you love makes you evaluate where you are in life and where you would like to be. It provides an opportunity to move in a new direction. I missed the sense of community and the sense of peace that the Gospel provides, so I came back. It's the best decision I ever made. That decision has given me such peace and joy in my life. I truly appreciate being part of this wonderful church. Sometimes you have to live without something for a while in order to really appreciate it. I have since married another wonderful man, and we are enjoying every minute! My new husband speaks German. I recently took two semesters of college German. We hope to be able to use our German skills while serving a mission for the church.

How I live my faith

My job in church is to teach about the scriptures. I enjoy it, but must spend lots of time preparing. I'm grateful for this opportunity to read and think about the scriptures and gospel principles. This has increased my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. I also have three ladies I have the opportunity to visit regularly. Each one is unique and wonderful. I'm so grateful for the opportunities I have to serve in the church.
