Hi I'm Rachel

My favourite thing to do is spend time with my big family! I was born and raised in Brisbane, Australia and I never want to leave.

About Me

I come from a family of 6 children. I love being apart of a big family. I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church in Perth, Australia. I love talking to people and helping others wherever I can. One of my hobbies is knitting, and I have been doing that since I was like 8 when my grandma taught me randomly one night. I love to go camping and getting outside.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It has brought me joy all my life and I know that it will continue to bless my life. I have been blessed to be born into the church. My parents are amazing, they are an example for me. They have always taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ and have been examples for me to follow. My friends at school have asked me why I am Mormon, I tell them that it is my own choice and that I know that this gospel is true. I am a Mormon because I believe in and love my Heavenly Father and my Saviour Jesus Christ. I know that they live and they love me. I am blessed to be part of a family that will be together for all eternity and not just for this life on earth. My brother and my sisters are also my examples, they all live and follow the teachings of Christ. My siblings and I have all made a pact that we are all going to stay true and faithful forever. I have learnt for myself that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that I need to follow it's teachings. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I live the teachings of the gospel by regularly going to church each week, partaking of the sacrament to renew my baptismal covenants, saying my prayers, reading the book of Mormon, keeping the commandments in every day life and standing up for what I believe in. I also try to ignore and overcome all bad temptations. I always try to look for the best in people. I love being a Mormon.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is basically your belief in the church and its teachings. The Official Church Answer is: A testimony is a spiritual witness given to an individual by the Holy Ghost. The foundation of a Mormon’s testimony is the knowledge that Heavenly Father lives and loves us; that Jesus Christ lives, that He is the Son of God, and that He carried out the infinite Atonement; that Joseph Smith is a prophet, which God called to restore Jesus Christ’s church to the earth; that we are led today by a living prophet; and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Savior’s Church restored on the earth today.
