Hi I'm Carolyn

I'm a Mormon and have raised six children. I love to search for my genealogy and I enjoy inspiring good music.

About Me

I was born into a Mormon family who helped me become a baptized member. I love to grow flowers and vegetables in our family garden. I am a baby boomer who is still working a job four days every week to make ends meet. When I found myself single again after many years of marriage, I was invited by my daughter and son-in-law to build an apartment onto their home so we could be closer as a family as we all share the same ideas and have the same faith in God. It has been a great loving experience to be together with my children and grandchildren and to participate in our growth together toward the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the teachings of Jesus Christ in the scriptures. During my life I have tried to follow what he taught and have found through my faith in Him that the example he showed us was right and true. This is why I am a Christian, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have felt his presence during times of my life when I have struggled with every day trials and temptations. He has blessed me to know I am a daughter of God, beloved and watched over. I know my prayers are heard and answered when they are right. The Savior has taught us about repentance and I have needed this principle during my life when I have not been as consistant as I should have been with my faith. I have made mistakes, But a loving Father in Heaven has given us a perfect plan where we can return to Him. He has given us his Son who walked the dusty paths of this earth and taught His gospel, whereby we can return to his presence. I am greatly in His debt and love Him with all my being. I know He lives.

How I live my faith

It is a priviledge to share the love of Christ with others by serving them as the Savior did when he was here upon the earth. I have served those who come to our church by giving time and using the talents Heavenly Father has blessed me with. I have taught children classes as well as teenagers from the Bible and the Book of Mormon and I am not a professional teacher. But we have been promised that the Spirit will help us to instill in those we teach the truth of all things. Also, I have made visits into homes of women of our Church over the years to become their friend and to share what I know with them which has given me great joy. Serving others has always brought me a great feeling of love and I can fully understand why the Savior taught us to "love one another". It has been a great joy in my life to learn of talents I didn't know I had until I made an effort to learn and then share them when doing service work. I have learned to lead music which I did not know how to do, and to build parade floats as a service and to organize play productions and to can food. How I love the Lord for giving us what we need, everytime.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Mormon temples are places to receive sacred ordinances and learn eternal truths whereby a father, mother and children may be sealed together as a family for eternity. Those who wish to receive these ordinances must be prepared to honor and be worthy before receiving these privileges. We are taught in the Mormon Church to learn the gospel of Jesus Christ a little at a time so we can put into practice and live our lives according to His plan for us. Changes in our lives for the better take a great deal of diligence to make it a way of life. We have to learn the fundamentals before we can take the advanced course. We must be baptized according to the teachings of Jesus Christ first and learn all we can about what he has in store for us in his eternal kingdoms. All that is given to us in the temple is not secret but sacred. Paul teaches "the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him". When we receive sacred teachings, they will sink deep into our hearts and are special to each one of us personally. The Lord invites all to come unto his house. He requires preparation from all by repentance, baptism and by living worthy to meet the qualifications to received all that if offered there. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

It is interesting to look at the stars at night and think how they were organized which sometimes makes you think of questions such as: Where did I come from? and Where am I going? Even if you have just a small thought about God and his creations, it gives you a desire to know if he is real and where he is and what is he like. I have come to know Him by talking to Him through daily prayer. Taking time every day to express my love for him and share my gratitude for his creations and love have helped me to make a connection and to recognize when my prayers have been answered. He has great love for His children and is willing to bless us continually as we learn of Him. Also I love to read the Bible and the Book of Mormon beacuse they each testify of Jesus Christ and give us His teachings. When we learn about God's commandments we can feel by the Spirit they are true and can begin living them to the best of our ability. By doing these things, you will be strengthened in your belief in Him and you will begin to recognize the truth and knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in your life. He loves us dearly. That I know. Show more Show less
