Hi I'm Vickie

I grew up in California. I love rainy days. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 20 years. I am the mother of 4 great kids and my family is my life. I am fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom and consider it one of my greatest blessings. I love to go on trips to visit our extended families in California, Alaska, and Utah. I enjoy reading, playing board games, eating out, and going on bike rides with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Another choice blessing of mine is having grown up with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I come from pioneer heritage on my mother's side and my father is a convert and the only member in his family. I love both sides of the family, but I can honestly see the difference between those who have the Gospel and those who don't. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints allows me to have direction and peace in knowing the purpose of life. It offers hope. I am surrounded by individuals with similar values who wish to protect the family. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ lives and that he atoned for our sins. Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us. They want us to be happy just as we do for our own children. I have never doubted this. I believe in prayer. It works.

How I live my faith

I go to church each week because I love how I feel when I am there. Taking the sacrament allows me to renew covenants I've made with God at baptism. It's like a fresh start every week. I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true. My day goes better when I start it with scripture study. It blesses my life. I enjoy helping others find this same happiness and see the joy that comes into their lives. As I volunteer in classrooms, parent organizations, and youth sports, I try to have a positive influence on those around me so that they will want to know the source of my happiness. I'm not as bold as I should be, but I'm trying to overcome my shyness. Why wouldn't I want to share this joy with others?

Are Mormons Christians?

Vickie
We are definitely Christian. Christians believe in Christ. The name "Mormon" is a nickname or common name for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jesus Christ stands at the head of this church. We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. We know He is our Savior and that He suffered and died for our sins so that we might return and live with Him again after this life. He was resurrected and overcame death so that we can enjoy this same blessing. He lives! Show more Show less
