Hi I'm Ben

I'm just a regular person.... and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ben, and I grew up in a large family. I'm the youngest of 8 kids. I love to sing, but I don't do it very often in front of people. I was in a rock band for awhile my senior year of high school and just after graduating which was a lot of fun. I didn't sing but I played the bass guitar. We did ok. I quit the band in 2002 to serve a mission in Chile Antofagasta for two years. (best decision I ever made) Now I work and go to school. I love my job but still have a dream of opening my own multimedia recording and editing studio. Family is my number one. They are more important to me than I think they realize.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess the reason I am Mormon is because I've learned that the way God teaches us what is true and what is right is through the Holy Ghost. In the scriptures God says that "I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you" Some things in this life are understood with the mind. Things like a math formula that finally clicked in your brain because it was finally explained in a way that makes sense. Other things in this life are felt and you know they are good. Think of how you feel when you've seen a sunrise on a crisp cool morning, or the way it smells after the rain, or how you have felt to have a child fall asleep, their head resting on your shoulder. Those are things we can feel are good and right. When we learn through the spirit the thing being taught makes sense in our brains, and feels right in our hearts. That is the way that I know, that God lives and is my father. That is the way that I know that Jesus is the Christ, and my savior. And that is the reason I am a Mormon. I learned through the spirit that God restored his church in our day. He longs for our happiness in this life and in the next. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is his church restored to the earth I know it, and I know that God knows that I know it, and I won't deny it.

How I live my faith

Mostly I try to live the true teachings of Jesus Christ by being nice to people and trying to feel love for everyone. Some people make that hard but I like a challenge. :) I think the key to living a Christ centered life is remembering Jesus, and what he sacrificed for us. Its definitely hard to do that in a world where were pushed to replace thinking with mindless stimulation. I know I often get caught up in the day to day distractions that make up life. But I find that when I put God first, everything else falls into place and I am happy and am blessed with a peace that I would not know otherwise.
