Hi I'm Alayna

I am a mother of five, wife, student and Registered Nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of five, and a wife to a wonderful husband. I have three boys 21, 20 and 17, and my sweet girls are 11 and 12. I am an RN and I work in the nursery and care for sick babies, and I also attend deliveries and help with the babies right after they are born. I am also in college and my goal is to recieve my Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner (DNP). I love to read, watch movies (my husband is a movie theatre manager, so that works out!), sew, and recently I have begun to kayak (just the sit-on-top-kind) and I love it! I also like all kinds of music, but somehow my boys seem to find the few kinds of music I don't like and then play it for me, they love me very much. I love to laugh and I find that I laugh at myself a lot these days. I am normaly easy-going, but I feel passionate about my beliefs and can really get on a soap box if you push the right button!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. I also choose to be a Mormon. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I don't do anything I don't choose to do. I have felt the influence of God in my life many times, and I have also felt Him bear witness to me, through the Holy Spirit, the truth of the gospel. The teachings of the church make sense to me and continuing my education and learning about the body and science only strenghtens that conviction. The Gospel brings me peace. Knowing that He loves me, as an individual, and knowing that there is a purpose to my life and the lives of my family and children gives me hope. As a mother, knowing that He loves my children even more than I can imagine brings me great comfort when they don't always make the best choices. Most of all, I am a Mormon because I know from personal, spiritual experience that Jesus is the Christ, and that what the church teaches about Him and His gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I teach the Mia Maids (14-15 year old girls) in church and am amazed at how wonderful and fun they are, they have taught me much more that I could ever teach them. I try hard to treat others with kindness. I also try to remember that everyone has challenges in life and that we are all on different parts of the journey, so not to judge harshly. Most of all, I have fun and enjoy life as much as I can!
