Hi I'm Melinda.
I grew up in Utah, in a family of 11. I am the 5th out of 9 children. I am a happy homemaker, wife, and mother. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am the mother of 3 beautiful daughters and 1 loving son. I am also happily married. I was married at age 19 in 2002. My husband and children are the joy of my life. I am very thankful that I can be a homemaker and have the opportunity to teach our 4 little angels sent down to us from our Father in Heaven. I love life! I love to be active. I love nutrition. I love fashion. I love to be creative. I enjoy blogging about my family and making jewelry and hair accessories. It is fun for me to make something out of very little. I currently take piano lessons with my 8 year old daughter and find joy playing music with her in our home.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church on the earth. I am Mormon because I am happiest when I am living the gospel principles of Jesus Christ. These principles and values give me the guidance necessary to live in peace and happiness no matter how troubled the world becomes. I am Mormon because I don't know where I'd be in this world without the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost in my life. He guides me in all of my decisions. I am also Mormon because I am a family-oriented person. I love to be with my family. They are everything to me. Life would be so lonely without my family. I am a Mormon because I believe my family will continue beyond the grave. I feel great peace when I strive my best each day to live my life pleasing to my Father in Heaven's/God's will. Because he blesses me with that peace each day I do, I know, without a doubt, that He will never leave me comfortless.
How I live my faith
I live my faith each day of my life. Whether it is teaching my children from the scriptures and the words of our prophets, serving my family and friends, calling a friend on the phone to see how they are doing, or visiting those women who I have stewardship over through the visiting teaching program of our church. My church calling or responsibility currently is the Preparedness Specialist of our ward and I am loving it! It is helping me get to know those who need my help. Some things that I find joy in is helping them learn how to build a 90 day supply of food and water in their home, prepare a 72 hour kit for their family, teach them skills in bottling/canning fruit, meat and vegetables, baking and cooking without electricity, and how to budget and stay out of debt so that they will have money saved for the future. My day always goes better when I have served someone other than myself, no matter how much I need to get done. I feel God bless me triple fold when I help at least one of his children each day. It most certainly strengthens my faith each time I do. It is great!
