Hi I'm Loni

I was born in Littleton, Colorado, and when it was time for me to start school my family settled in Bountiful, Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and I work with my husband in one of his financial businesses. I love little children because they are so innocent and I love to observe them and how they think and react to different situations. I have worked in a club nursery for 17 years and now I have a granddaughter that keeps me young. For recreation I love to hike the mountains right out my front door here in Phoenix, AZ. It is a physical challenge and is made easier by hiking with friends. I enjoy cooking for my family and and also enjoy swapping recipes with my friends. I love to support my own children in all the activities they do. When my children were going through their school/sport years I always had a bleacher chair in my car because I was always using it at one of their events. I love being a housewife and have many things I want to complete in my lifetime.

Why I am a Mormon

My family raised us Catholic and I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My brother and I were both baptized at the same time by the father of our neighbors in Bountiful, Utah. My family suffers with addictions and from the time that I was a small child I knew that there was more to life than the pain it caused my family. As I attended all my church meetings by myself growing up, I was surrounded by examples of what true happiness could mean in my life. I can't say that it was always easy heading down this road all by myself, but I now know that I am someone special because I am a Child of God. I have been happily married in the Temple to my companion, my Husband Theril, for thirty years and we have three children born under the covenant. We also, have one granddaughter that is the joy of our life and another one on the way. I look for answers to life challenges each week when I attend my church meetings. The answers are always found in the lessons taught in our Sunday meetings, as well as prayer and scripture study. What a different path my life has taken than that of the rest of my family members. I know that true happiness comes from knowing why I am here on this earth and what I need to do and know to return to live with my Heavenly Father. My life has truly been enriched and influenced by those that I have served and those that have served me. The Gospel and all that it teaches me is my life. I love that I am always learning more about myself as I learn more about the teachings of Jesus Christ and what he did for me.

How I live my faith

I know that as we serve we learn about ourselves. This Church gives us many opportunities to serve. Some of my dear friends have come from serving in various areas of the church. I have had many opportunities to teach the youth and young children of the church. They have a special spirit about them that makes you humble and blessed to teach them and be in their presence. We have a Modern Day Prophet on the earth today . He is called of God and wants each of us to be on the path of true happiness. I remember a former Prophet speaking and he told us to find Joy in the Journey. This life can throw us many challenges, but as I try to adhere to his counsel and as I do I find that things are not so hard to face. The Earth we live on was created by Heavenly Father for us. He loves us and wants us to find joy in the path we are on. If anything I have said causes you to want to know more contact the missionaries and they are dedicated to teach you the truth. I have had Sons serve missions and I know that they want to share the message of Joy of the gospel that they love. I want you to know that this Church and its teachings are true and there are answers for you as your attend church meetings.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Loni
We chose to come to this earth to gain our physical body. Then we will be tried and tested and given many opportunities to choose good over evil. We are sent here with personal contact (prayer) with our Father in Heaven as we are gain experience in this life that will allow us to become more like our Heavenly Father. Another important part of this life is to love and develop family relationships with the knowledge that they will become eternal. Show more Show less
