Hi I'm Dale

I grew up in NJ, USA. Spent time in the US Navy and saw the world. Married with 4 children. I'm an IT Mgr and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband of 19 years, a father of 4 children, and I'm a convert. I became a member when I was 26, after my father had passed away. I enjoy spending time with my family, recently we went to Disneyland and had a family reunion. I like to read, mainly science fiction, but also information about the IT field (my profession). My hobbies also include collecting movies, wooden air planes, and working around the house.

Why I am a Mormon

When my father passed away, I started to become interested in organized religion. Prior to that, I felt more comfortable talking to my Heavenly Father in the woods or when I was alone. After his death, I wanted to find more. When I attended a Sacrament service in an LDS Ward in Silverdale, WA. I felt the Spirit and wanted to learn more. Learning that families can be together forever and the closeness of the family really struck me as important. I took a long time to become a member, 3 years to be exact, but that is because I had to make sure that I could commit to the life and the Gospel. I'm married to an awesome wife that helps me be more then I could ever be alone. Together we are raising for fantastic children and through it all the Gospel is intertwined in our lives. It helps us to choose the right, to know what we should be doing, and as a bedrock for our lives. My testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel is that I know that Heavenly Father lives, I know that His son, Jesus Christ came to the Earth for us and was put on the cross for us, and that we have the Holy Ghost to help to guide us in our Earthly lives. He wants us to be happy and to return to His presences, that is why we have the scriptures to help us.

How I live my faith

As a convert to the church, I have had the opportunity to live "In the World" and how I work to live by my faith is to show the love that Our Savior has for all of us. I work to let people know that they are important to Him and me and that we are all special in His eyes. In my calling as 1st Assistant to the High Priest Group Leadership (when did I get old.....;-p) I work to provide love and fellowship to the members of the quorum and to the Ward in general. I have set up a few get together opportunities over the last year and am looking forward to the holidays to do more. I home teach 5 families currently and enjoy the opportunity to be a part of their lives. Whether it is an older couple near retirement or the younger sister with two great young men, it is a blessing to be able to partake of their spirits and help them when called upon. At work my co-workers know that I am a member of the church and I am open about discussing my beliefs with them. Again, we are all Heavenly Father's children and I enjoy the opportunity to bear my testimony about my love of the Gospel to them. I try to put a "face" the members of the "Mormon" church and dispel any myths or incorrect statements about my faith.
